Happy Birthday Vic !!

Apologies for the photo I really do need to get to grips with a better way of taking them. Any way today is the birthday of a really good friend........ Vic ! I made this card at the week end but for obvious reasons couldn't share it until today as I know she checks my blog. By the way if you want to check out Vic's blog click here.

The background stamp was from a set of Inkadinkado stamps which I stamped in Versamagic Mango Madness. I added extra ink around the edges of the stamp to give it some dimension. The huge flower is a Squash flower, I bought a pack of them from a local craft store and this is the first time I've used one. It didn't look quite right without something in the middle so I stuck a button from a set of Blonde Moments buttons in the middle. The tag is cut with my Cricut machine using the tags, bags & boxes cartridge, which I then
inked around the edge with the Mango Madness ink( isn't it a great name!). I stamped the flower onto some shrink plastic in the same ink, cut it out and then shrunk it ! I am fascinated with shrink plastic, I think it's wonderful stuff. The ribbon is just a scrap piece from my bundle of ribbons.

The weather has been gorgeous here today, I couldn't believe the temperature when I saw it in the car. I think spring has definitely sprung ! I actually ventured into the garden when I got in from work. I didn't stay long mind, as it's a bit of a jungle at the moment, and you don't need to get too carried away !

Shoes and H2O's

I bought this shoe stamp from a local craft shop a few weeks ago and have been itching to use it ever since. It's a Clarity Stamp, which I am a huge fan of. I stamped the shoe in black Versacolour ink then clear embossed it. I then painted it with H2Os and chalked around it before cutting it out with Large Labels Nestabilities. I layered it onto a piece of card that I 'swished' with different coloured H2Os which I 'splodged' ( lots of technical terms today!) onto a piece of plastic then 'swished' the white card over it. The photo doesn't really show it too well but it gives a mottled sparkly effect. The paper is Basic Grey which is layered onto some Coredinations card.

Well after our walk yesterday I think I will seriously have to think before doing another one. If it makes your body ache like this I fail to see how it can be healthy for you! I've also been trying to come to terms with losing the hour yesterday. I don't know why but it always throws me for a day or so, though having the light nights back is a huge bonus.

Right time for a cup of tea and Heroes !

Shattered !

This is a card I made a few days ago, the one I'm working on at the moment is waiting to dry so I should hopefully be able to show you it tomorrow. The main image is from a K&Co stamp set that I embossed in white EP, then used Labels 2 Nestabilities to cut it out and then layer. The background stamp is also from the same set of stamps. The ribbon across the bottom is a scrap piece left over from Christmas and is a gorgeous green velevet, not sure the photo does it justice.

So the reason I'm shattered is we went walking in the Peak District today. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. My body's not thinking it was such a good idea now as my feet and back are really aching. Right I'm off for a cup of tea and put my poor old feet up ! Any one would think I'm 90!

I love Nestabilities !

I started this card with a completely different design in mind, but I'm pleased with where I ended up. The butterfly is from a set of K&Co stamps and was stamped with black Stazon and then I chalked the card with different shades of lilac. I highlighted certain areas with a Starburst gelly roll pen to lift it a little as the black on it's own was a little drab. I then cut it out with Labels one Nestabilities, which I absolutely love ! I cut a further 2 sizes out of Bazzill card stock. The paper is just a scrap piece I had which I mounted onto some more Bazzill card. I used my new punch for the first time too ! The bow is made from a scrap of ribbon and then I added some gems for a little more interest.

Well we had a lovely curry last night though I have to say whatever they put in them seem to stay with you for a good 24hours ! Spent today mostly in my craft room, but this morning we took the plunge and ordered a new kitchen. The one we've got is really looking rather tired so we decided it was time to do something about it. So in about 6 weeks the fun will really start !

Right I think it's time for a cup of tea and a look at the television.

Vintage Car

I made this card for one of my niece's boyfriends 18th birthday. The car stamp is from Tanda Stamps and is stamped in black Stazon onto glossy white card. I then stamped it in white Brilliance ink onto black shrink plastic, which I have to say worked really well. I then used the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder on some white card and layered it onto some black Bazzill Bling card. The stamped card is also layered onto the same. The circles at the top and bottom are some black peel offs that I bought absolutely ages ago and knew that one day they would come in handy !

Well as it's Friday we've decided to treat ourselves and go out for a curry. Always helps when it's pay day to boot !

Spot the button !

Sorry about the photo of this card I need to find a better way of taking them. My photographic skills need a little work ! This was a really simple card to make but I thought the colours were bright and 'spring like'. The stamps are from a K&Co set and an Inkadinkado set. All were stamped in Teal Stazon and the circles are Nestabilities large scallop layered over some satin ribbon. I bought this ribbon ages ago and didn't want to use it as the colour was so gorgeous ! I'

Well I've managed to buy Quantum of Solace so that's tonight's entertainment sorted ! So I'm going to put my feet up get myself a cup of tea and 'oggle' at Daniel Craig !

Faux Stitching Challenge !

I've actually amazed myself at making this card so quickly! My friend Vic set our weekly challenge to make a card to include some type of stiching on it whether it be hand stitched or faux stitched. I've been thinking about it all day today at work and then on the drive home and this is what I've come up with. I cut a template for the pocket and then inked it with Adirondack Stonewashed and Denim. then I stamped the rose from the new Elusive Images Harlequin set in Denim too. The stitching on the pocket is hand drawn with a LePlume pen, mounted onto some navy card and 2 large brads added. The ribbon is from the collection I picked up from the NEC and was perfect for this challenge. I've added 2 or 3 drops of Glossy Accents to (hopefully) look like drops on the rose.

Well because I've done that in record time, I've still got time to play around with something else before Mistresses starts at 9PM. It's the last one in the series tonight so I can't miss it !

Blue Yonder !

This is a card I've made for an order from my partner's Mum, it also covers a challenge that I set for my friend Vic and me to do. The motorbike is part of a 3 stamp set that I bought from the NEC a few years ago, sorry but I don't know who made it. The background was done with Adirondack inks, Stonewashed and Denim. The words 'Blue Yonder' are stamped with a great little alphabet set of stamps by Habico, stamped with stazon ink. The motobike is embossed with white EP and then cut out with the Nestabilities Large Labels. I then painted the mudguards and the fuel tank with H2O's and then went over the paint with Glossy Accents. The pale blue layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder then cut out with the next size up Large Labels. The Happy Birthday is a Funstamps stamp, again stamped with Stazon ink and cut out with a smaller Large Labels.

Well it's been a really windy here so it's good to be inside. Just hope everthing's still there in the morning !

Birthday Wine Bottle

I made this card for my brother in law's birthday a couple of weeks ago. The stamp is by Inkadinkado which I bought at one of the NEC shows. I stamped it onto white glossy card with Stream Adirondack ink and coloured around the edge with the same ink. I then stamped the birthday definition stamp by Hero Arts again with the same ink onto white glossy card. I stamped the main image again and cut out just a secion for the third image. All of the images were mounted onto some bazzill card then mounted onto a white linen card. I have to say for a very quick card I was quite pleased with this. I'm really loving the colours of the Adirondack range of inks so they may well feature in the projects to come.

Well I've had quite a tiring day today as I've been out shopping with my sister. It's been an absolutely gorgeous day where we are so it was a pleasure to be out in the sun. I was very good and didn't spend too much but my sister made a sterling effort !

Golden Wedding

This is a card I made for an order for my partner's Mum. I don't know about you but whenever the word 'wedding' is mentioned I have a complete mental block ! I have to say that this turned out better than I thought. The stamp set is one I bought last year from Joanna Sheen's web page.
I stamped the book 3 times, once onto gold pearlescent card and then embossed with gold EP. The second was stamped onto some cream card in pearlescent gold Brilliance ink. The top layer was stamped with Versamark then embossed with gold EP onto vellum then stuck just in the centre to the layer below and the leaves of the book left loose. The letters are the initials of the people the card is for - Enid and Ken. This was then mounted onto cream card and I used a corner stamp from a K&Co set and stamped in Brilliance gold ink.
I've got another Golden Wedding card to do for my partner's Mum so I'm going to have to think long and hard for that one !
Thanks for dropping by.

Present for Mum

I spotted this box on a Splitcoast Stamper newsletter and thought it would be great for my Mum. She's decided she doesn't want any thing from my sisters or me for Mother's Day but I thought if I filled this with some Thornton's chocolate marzipans, she won't complain!

This box was really simple to make and once I'd covered it with the individual pieces of paper it came together quite nicely. The ribbon is one I picked up at the NEC on Sunday and is threaded through some eyelets.

First time !

Well I've finally done it and joined the world of bloggers! It took a little persuasion from a friend and fellow crafter, but I've got there in the end. This first post is something I made after a visit to the NEC on Sunday. I spotted a stall selling the Stamp Tapestry sets and just had to make a purchase. I must admit I found it a little harder than I thought as I kept making the wreath of flowers around the vase way too big. I used Labels One Nestabilities and threaded some lilac ribbon through the back of the larger one.

So now I've started I have to carry on ! Best get my thinking cap on and see what happens.

Thanks for taking a look !
