Good luck !

I knew I would make another Good Luck card for the lady who is leaving tomorrow. I had lunch with her today and I was thinking she really isn't a bright colour person, so I made the above. I think these colours will suit her alot better !

The main image is from the Yumys Garden stamp tapestry set which was cut out with Labels One Nestabilities on the Cuttlebug. The stamp on both sides of the card is from a TandaStamps set called Flourishes Set 1, which I've had for some time. I stamped it in Aloe Vera Versamagic ink and then added some gems. The sentiment was a gold peel off that I coloured with a purple peel off pen. Very simple card as not much time but I'm pleased with it.

Thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow, it's been the longest week ever ! We've got lots of jobs lined up for the week end so I'm not sure when I'll get time for crafting, but I'm sure I'll manage to squeeze it in somewhere !

Round in Circles Challenge

This is a card I've made for the Tanda Teaser this week which is 'Going Round in Circles. First of all I stamped the small flower from a set of K&Co stamps in Versamagic - Perfect Plumeria. I then put the card through my Cuttlebug using the Spots and Dots embossing folder and then punched the edge with the Waterfall punch. This was mounted onto some Bazill card. The butterfly is from the same set of stamps and was stamped with black Stazon and then I inked the card with Adirondack inks - Butterscotch, Eggplant and Cranberry. I then cut the image out using my circle Nestabilities and mounted on a larger circle of Bazill card cut out with the Scalloped Circle Nestabilites. The 'Happy Birthday' stamp is a Clarity stamp which I find extremely useful, for going round curves funnily enough !

I don't know what's wrong with me this week but I feel like it's Thursday today not Tuesday ..lol ! The thought of another 3 days at work is really not going down too well, I can tell you.

Inky fingers !

I felt the need to get very messy tonight and believe you me I succeeded ! I just hope it washes off else it will bring a new definition to 'green fingers' ! I got the inspiration for this card from Manics Inky Antics which you will find here.Any way I started with some ordinary white card stock and built up layers of Adirondack ink in Lettuce, Stream and Denim. I then inked some bubble wrap with Stream and pressed it onto the card. The background corner stamp and the Paris wording are from the new sets of Elusive Images stamps I recently bought, this is their first ( but definitely not their last ! ) outing. I then inked another piece of white card with the Stonewashed, Lettuce, Stream and Denim ink. I stamped the main image in Stream and the corner stamp in Denim. I mounted it onto Bazill card and put some Stream ink on the bottom layer as it was too bright a colour. The paper flower was put throught the Cuttlebug in the Spots and Dots embossing folder.

Well I don't know about you but I've been absolutely frozen today ! We've had such a lovely week end that the drop in temperature was a definite shock to the system, let alone the torrential rain ! It's almost time for Ashes to Ashes, which I am addicted to, so will be recording Heroes to watch another night. Think it's cup of tea time too !

Thanks for stopping by.

Recycle challenge !

This has to be the hardest challenge I've ever done ! I've been thinking about it all week and every idea I've come up with I decided I didn't like. So in the end, time dictated what I did. I gathered together as many tags from clothes I've bought in recent months.

Then I made a small collage of the tags and cut out the bow from one of the Phase Eight envelopes, that you get with your spare buttons in. The stamp is one I picked up from the NEC show last year, apologies I don't know who it's by. I stamped her in black Versacolour and then clear embossed her. I painted the ribbon on her hat and the bags with H20s and then cut out the hearts from the Per Una tags and stuck them to the bags. I then cut her out, which proived to be a little tricky when I got to her legs ! She nearly ended up without any ! This was then mounted onto some plain card stock and the bottom edge was punched. A piece of satin ribbon was loosely tied in the middle and then stuck along the left edge. I have to say I don't like this card, so I think it is destined to be taken apart, but at least  Idid the challenge !

We've had a busy few days so this is the first time I've made it into my craft room. I'll hopefully have more time over the next few days as I've still not had a play with the new Elusive Images stamps that arrived a few days ago. Well I need to sign off now as we're going up to my Mum's for a barbecue - third one of the season !

Back in my comfort zone !

Phew, I'm back in my comfort zone, with the colours that soothe me ! This card was made with another set of Serendipity stamps. The background was stamped with Olive Green Stazon and then I blended chalks over it. I stamped the rake in Timber Brown Stazon and added some H2O colours. The small leaf was stamped onto cream shrink plastic with Olive Green Stazon. Everything was mounted onto green Bazzill card. A very simple card but I felt very at home making it.

I had to make a dash to the supermarket on my way home tonight and by the time I'd arrived home, unpacked, done my 20 minutes on my Wii Fit ( don't think I've mentioned this before!), cooked tea there wasn't much time, nor energy, left for crafting. I'm still on the hunt for something inspirational for the challenge my friend, Vic set, which was to use something that's been recycled and not from my craft room. I'll get there in the end, just takes me a little time some times !

Well I think that's me for tonight, I'm shattered and there's still another day to go !

All things bright and beautiful !

I hope you're sitting down when you see this card, it's quite shocking to me that I have made a card with these colours and no ink in sight ! I went to a local Paper Mill shop to pick up some basic card stock and I saw these colours and thought 'why not!'. The flowers were cut out on my Cricut from the Walk in the Garden cartridge. The letters are cut out with the Olivia alphabet used with my Cuttlebug. I then used the Waterfall edge punch on the white card and on the pink and mounted one on top of the other. The base green card was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and I found some green brads just to finish off ! I had this card in mind for a lady at work who is leaving next week, but I'm now thinking it may be a bit too bright for her. I'll mull it over, over the next few days and may make another one just in case !

Well by the time I'd been to the Paper Mill shop and then driven home time was cracking on so we broke rank tonight and had a chinese take away...and it was lovely !

More Serendipity !

This is another Serendipity stamp set, I really love the verse that accompanies the book stamp. The books were stamped with Archival Sepia Ink then I sprayed Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist (which arrived today !)over the top. I then cut the image out with the rectangle Nestability and mounted onto the Scalloped Rectangle Nestability in brown Bazill. I used my one and only Waterfall edge punch on some Bazill card, which I edged in the Sepia ink, and also cut a piece of Basic Grey paper and used the edge punch on this too. The delicious ribbon down the centre is the same colour as I used yesterday, very kindly donated by my friend Vic. I then stamped the verse in the Sepia ink too and resisted from going mad and inking the card as well, which I do have a tendency to do !

My long awaited parcel arrived today with some Elusive Images stamps inside, so I need to have a play and will share what I come up with. I am thinking that I need to have a little online 'retail therapy' as there are one or two items that I have my eye on :-)

I think I've just got time for another cuppa and watch a little of the snooker ( which will definitely put me to sleep ....lol ) and put my feet up before bed.

Watercolour !

The inspiration for this card came from the Tanda Stamps - Tanda Teaser where the challenge was watercolour. The stamp is one I was given for Christmas a couple of years ago and is a Serendipity stamp called Spring in Provence. I absolutely love these stamps and have dug them all out and will be having a play with them over the next few days. So for this card I stamped the image in black Stazon and then did a pale brown wash over the image using my watercolour pencils. I then painted the image with the same pencils, tore the bottom edge and wiped a Sepia Archival ink around the edge. The paper is by Graphic 45 and I stamped the text stamp 'For love of Art' along the edge in the Sepia ink. The brown paper is Basic Grey and it's all mounted onto Bazill card. I added two brad levers to add some interest, and the ribbon was a donation from my friend Vic.

I really enjoyed making this card I love painting, I find it very theraputic. It's been an absolutely gorgeous day again and we lit the barbecue tonight. The first of many hopefully! Ashes to Ashes is on now so it's time to put my feet up with a cuppa.

Catching up.....

This card was made using one of the stamps from the Personal Impressions stamp set. She was stamped with black Versacolour then clear embossed. I coloured her with my water colour pencils. The scallop circle was cut using the scallop circle Nestibilities and then stamped with a Clarity stamp in Versamagic ink. The flowers are punched and the bottom layer is embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I've edged the tag of the main image with the Versamagic ink to add some definition. The flower and brad were added with Glossy Accents, as it sticks any thing !

Well I've finally got there and worked out how to put this lovely award on my blog. I understand that I need to pass this on to 10 other 'bloggers'. I'll have to give this some thought and I'll post them later this week.

It's been a beautiful day today, we've not had a cloud in the sky all day. We've done a bit more in the garden, so it's starting to take shape again. I could just do with the whole of the week off now to do a bit more as well as fit in some crafting time !

Blue Sky Thinking !

Well if you only knew the fun I had trying to take a photo tonight ! Talk about photo studio needed! Any way got there in the end with the help of a tripod and my partner, who's a whiz with any thing photographic !

So tonight's card was inspired by the Splitcoast Stamper newsletter that was waiting from me in my email inbox. The technique was 'sponged sky' and it was so simple, I love it ! All you do is take a small sponge and dab onto an ink pad, I used Adirondack Stonewashed, take off the excess ink then, in circular motions, rub the ink onto your card. Make sure you leave some white bits so it looks like the sky. I then stamped the flower with Versamagic ink, the stamp is from an Inkadinkado set. The sentiment is from a Personal Impressions set which I bought on a recent shopping trip which I stamped in Adirondack Denim. The ribbon I picked up from a local craft shop and I love it. Bizarrely enough I didn't realise it was double sided until I got it home....bonus ! The stitching is done with a Sakura white Souffle pen and the gems were added...well just because you have to have a bit of sparkle don't you !

I've been given an award for my blog, which I am really pleased about. The problem is I need to work out what to do with it ! I promise I'll post it over the week end once I've figured it out!

Well it's been a really grey, wet and windy day today. Definitely NOT a day for going to work, but a day for staying in my craft room. I was a little disappointed today as I made a little purchase last week and had hoped it would be here by now, never mind it will be something to look forward to and I promise I will share.

Well I think a cup of tea is calling me and a stretch out on the sofa as my back is still not very happy sitting at my craft table.

Thanks for dropping by.

To be beside the seaside !

I have to admit I made this card a little while ago but having been to the seaside at the week end and not quite managing to catch up with my crafting yet, this card seemed quite apt. The chalet images are from a Tandastamp set and are stamped with black Stazon and then coloured using watercolour pencils. The bottom strip was done using the resist ink technique where you stamp your image with Versamark ink then brayer your ink over the top and the image reveals itself. I then stamped the little boats over the top, this was again part of the same Tandastamp set, and unlike me I've actually put a sentiment on this card, wonders will never cease ! The wavy edge was done using some deckle scissors ( not used them in ages I must dig them out !)

Not had much time today as our french lesson over ran by quite a bit so rather than rush a card, and probably throw it in the bin, I opted for the easy option.

Right, another episode of Stargate Atlantis is queued and ready to watch so it's cup of tea time now.

I'm back.......and in the pink !

Well we've had an absolutley beautiful week end in Dorset. The cottage we stayed in was really quaint, the best part was the massive conservatory that was the lounge where you could watch the birds and the surrounding countryside. There's nothing like a week end away to make you realise that your craft room needs tidying, or I just need a larger room !

The above card was made with 2 little Papermania stamps I picked up on my shopping trip with my friend Vic. I stamped the cake with Brilliance ink and then sprinkled it with clear EP. The result made it look a little textured. I then used my watercolour pencils to colour the icing layer of the cake. I then used my circle and scallop Nestabilities and drew on some hand stitching. I rubbed a brown Brilliance ink around the edges to give it some contrast. The piece of embossed card has been put through my Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls embossing folder that has been inked on the inside with the same Brilliance ink and punched the edge. I stamped the candles and words in Versamagic ink onto some Basic Grey paper from the Two Scoops set.

I am now on a mission to find some (cheap) shelving for my craft room as enough is enough of moving my 'piles' from one place to another. I just seem to be picking up little bits of craft stuff here and there and they just stay on my work table. I will soon be down to the size of a postage stamp to work on ! We saw some absolutley amazing houses while we were away, and we'd mentally moved in and set up my craft 'studio'. It's good job you can still dream !

Slight delay in the proceedings.....

There's no card tonight, so apologies for that. Things are quite busy with us at the moment so I will be 'offline' for a few days by which time normal service should be resumed.

I hope everyone has a lovely Easter break and that much crafting time is had by all !

Thanks for stopping by.

....and I've finished it !

This is the second half of a card that was started by my friend Vic and then given to me to finish. I've fiddled around with the colours in the hopes of trying to make them more realistic, but I think I've failed as it looks alot more colourful in real life. The stamp is from a Papermania set of stamps, I thought she was really cute and the sentiment was really lovely too ! Sorry Vic I didn't use your sentiment, maybe next time ! I ran Versamagic ink, Hint of Pesto, around the edge and then mounted the image onto some green card and then onto some brown card that I ran through my Cuttlebug using the Distrssed stripes embossing folder. Popped a brad in the centre of the flower and voila !

My back's eased up today, thank goodness, so I've done my challenge and am most of the way to finishing a Golden Wedding card for my other half's parents. I should be safe to show you it when it's finished as they don't know any thing about Crafty Blogs.

I'm just going to have another episode of Stargate Atlantis and then I think it will be time for bed.

Thanks for looking.

Before...............

You may be wondering 'what on earth has she done ! This card isn't finished'.......and you would be right ! The challenge I set this week with my friend Vic, was to start a card then we would swap and finish each others off ! So this is my 'half made' card that needs some attention to finish it off. The colours have gone a bit askew as the blue is way too bright ! The card is chalked with green and blue then I cut a circle using the circle Nestabilities and then stamped on it with the Basic Grey Two Scoops in Adirondack Lettuce. The stamp I used on the blue border is from a Paper Artsy set called Swirls & Curls, which I stamped in Black Stazon and I tore the bottom edge. So it's over to you now Vic ! I can't wait to see what I need to finish off. Our styles are quite different so this will be a real challenge for both of us.

Well it's been a reallly lovely afternoon again today. We really will be thinking that Spring is here to stay! let's hope it stays around for the week end at least as if I don't get out in the garden soon the word jungle will be an understatement !

Thanks for looking.

Classy lady !

Well I didn't end up getting too messy last night, nothing ever ends up the way I imagine it. I always go off on a tangent. The main stamp is one I picked up from the NEC, she's called Sophia but unfortunately I don't know who made her. I stamped her in Perfect Plumeria Versamagic ink and then mounted her onto brown Bazzill card. I then pierced some holes in her hat and threaded some ribbon through and stuck a pearl in the centre. I stamped with a Basic Grey Two Scoops Swirlie stamp onto some pink patterned paper, again in the same colour Versamagic ink. This was all mounted onto some brown Bazzill card that I embossed with the Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder. The flowers are Scrap Pack mini paper flowers with brads and a pearl in the centre.

Well thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow, it's been a slow week this week. I think it's because I'm going out with my friend Vic on Saturday looking for stash and it feels like the week will never end. I'll be sharing whatever little purchases I happen to make, well it would be rude not to !

And then there were three !

This was a really quick card and the inspiration came from the shape left after I'd cut some tags out on my Cricut. I stamped the flower through the shape with black Stazon and then chalked over the top still using the template. I wiped a Colorbox Chalk ink pad around the edge and then mounted it onto some Basic Grey paper and then onto some Bazill. The lovely new punch ( which I can never remember the name of !) was used and then I threaded some ribbon though it. The buttons were from the Blonde Moments set and then I added some stickles to give a little bit of sparkle.

The last two days have been really lovely, it really does make a difference to your mood. The problem is I'm looking at things that need doing around the house and garden. I can feel a bit of a 'spring clean' coming on!

Think I will mess about with some inks tonight and get a little messy, may end up with something to share but then again I may not !

Thanks for looking.
