For my really good friend

My really good friend Vic ( Blue Jelly too ) is due to have her baby next week so I popped round to see her tonight with this card and a carton of mini chocolate rolls ! The sentiment is one I found on the internet which I just printed out on the PC printer then I cut out with Labels One Nestabilities. I went round the edge with my Versamark pen and then brushed Pebbles Inc Pearlescent chalks over the top. I stamped the dummy and rattle , which I think are from a Joanna Sheen set of stamps, in Versamark too and used the chalks on them as well. The border along the bottom is from the set of templates that came free with the Cardmaking and Papercaft magazine. I used my Versamark pen again and then went over it with the chalks. The pearls for once, are their natural colour.

Well Vic and I had, had a lovely chat and her little boy, Zac, had been a little soul, so it was a real shame that I then spent the next 2 hours stuck on the M1 trying to get home ! Oh how lucky I felt having just got on the motorway to then grind to a halt. Good job I'd made this card last night else I doubt very much I would have had any patience tonight. Right, there's a chilled Pina Colada winking at me from the fridge so I think I'm going to indulge !

Here's one I made earlier !

I have to admit that I did make this one earlier.....in the month ! We've been really busy today trying to get as much done in the kitchen as possible and I've run out of time and steam ! I made this card for a friend at work who needed a simple design and wanted gold on a white card. I would not normally put these two together but I do quite like this card. The sentiment is a stamp from the Tanda Stamp set called Postage Set One (small). It's stamped with Versamark and then gold embossed. I've then cut it out with the rectangle Nestabilities and layered it up....very simple but quite elegant.

I went to see my Mum this afternoon and she was not happy with the weather at all ! Far too muggy, and I have to agree with her. But at least I almost have a 'whole' kitchen now and the new washing machine arrives on Tuesday...woohoo!

Tanda Teaser 'Chocolate & Orange'

The challenge this week for the Tanda Teaser is Chocolate and Orange. The example card is just beautiful so do make sure you pop over there and have a look. It's amazing where ideas come from and while I was mowing the lawn this afternoon with sweat pouring off my face, this idea came to me. The main image is from a set of stamps from Tanda Stamps called Retro Women Set 2 which I've stamped in Brilliance Coffee Bean and added three crystals in her hair. I absolutely love this stamp and have used it so many times since I've had it, which is quite a while now ! The background is cream card which I've inked with Veramagic Persimmon and Mango Madness and then stamped over it with Brilliance Coffee Bean. The swirls are from the Basic Grey Two Scoops stamps, another set that I love and use alot. The edge of the card is swiped with the Brilliance Coffee Bean ink, it's then mounted onto brown and orange card. The main background paper is Basic Grey and I've added two corner peel offs, which I've coloured using my peel off pens and the same with the sentiment.

Well it's been so muggy here today, I'm desperate for some fresh air. I know we shouldn't moan but why can't we have hot weather, but with a cool breeze ! Am I asking for too much ! I hear we're going to be hitting 30 degrees later this week.......oh for a pool in the back garden !

Sugar Nellie - pop up !

I saw this style of card in the July edition of the Craft Stamper magazine. The stamp is called Planting Some Love and I thought it was absolutely gorgeous so had to make a purchase ! I've shaded her with my Promarkers which I think I'm starting to get the hang of but it is taking some practice. I then cut her out with the largest circle Nestibility and then cut out the largest scalloped circle and cut it in half and stuck it either side. The card is a 7 x 5 card that I've scored half way down the front and then folded it so that it would sit behind the brads. Quite simple but a bit different !

Well after actually getting round to starting an excercise class I then received a letter today to say that it has been cancelled ! I think someone is trying to tell me something ...lol....

Isn't she Gorjuss !

Apologies for the angle of the photo of this card but I'm running late tonight and couldn't be bothered to fiddle with another one. You will no doubt spot that the main image is a Sugar Nelllie stamp and as it says in the title, she is called Gorjuss - sitting. I stamped her with black Memento ink and then used my Pro markers to shade her. I haven't got a wide range of colours yet so pink was it ! The gorgeous papers are, of course, Basic Grey which arrived along with quite alot of other sheets in a large box. I do love a bit of retail therapy ! Any way she was cut out using Nestabilities as was the sentiment. The pearls were coloured with a peel off pen and the flower is a flower brad that I've threaded the ribbon through. I'd already stamped and coloured her in and then tonight I saw the sketch on Mojo Monday and she was perfect for it !

The reason I'm running late tonight is because I've attended my first Pilates class ! I have to say I found it quite difficult to get breathing and posture correct at the same time, but no doubt practice will make perfect (hopefully!).

Tanda Teaser 'Oh Daddy'

I've wanted to have a go at one of these Tri-shutter cards since I saw it on The Craftiblog. It's taken some working out as my card isn't quite the same size but I've got there in the end. This is something that I've made for the Tanda Teaser challenge this week. The challenge was to make a Father's Day card or a card for a man, as I'd already done a FD card I opted for a card for a man. The papers are Basic Grey and the Penny Farthing and the old motorbike are from Tanda Stamps and the last image is a stamp I bought at the NEC a few years back. The background to all of the stamped images is brayered using Adirondack Butterscotch and Lettuce, I've stamped used Midnight Blue Stazon and then sponged Denim Adirondack ink around the edge. I then sponged some Butterscotch ink onto some shrink plastic and stamped the images in the Midnight Blue Stazon. I've highlighted the centre dots on the circles paper with Glossy Accents, added some cream brads and stapled some ribbon. The stickers are from K&Co Life's Journey set and the sentiment is silver peel offs that I've coloured with a blue peel off pen.
This photo is an 'aerial' view just so you can see all of the panels. For a first time I'm quite pleased, I think this style card could feature again some time soon !
Well where did that week end go to ! The Golden Wedding 'do' went off OK, and my cards were well received ! Big drum roll please......we now have a working sink ! You wouldn't believe how nice it was to wash up, I never thought I would hear myself say that !
Time for some blog hopping now me thinks.

Golden Wedding part 2

Well I'm quite proud of myself for getting both cards ready for Saturday, normally it's a very last minute affair ! The main image is by Inkadinkado and was stamped with black Stazon. I then used my Faber Castell pens, which I really, really love, to shade it. I cut the image out with the rectangle Nestabilities, swiped around the edge with some Adirondack ink, and then mounted on the scalloped rectangle Nestabilities. I stamped the background of the card with 2 images, the main one is from the Elusive Images Harlequin Rose set which I stamped with Versamark then used gold Perfect Pearls and brushed it over the top. The swirl at the bottom of the card is from the Basic Grey Two Scoops set of stamps, again stamped with Versamark and brushed over with Perfect Pearls. Finished off with gold peel offs and gold organza ribbon. Quite a simple card but I do like the sketched effect with the gold. I may fiddle with the bow as I'm not overly happy with it, but that's definitely a job for tomorrow !

We had a night off from the kitchen tonight which, although I feel very guilty about, I think we needed. It is starting to feel like the Forth Bridge but it can only get better !

Back in action !

This card is for my partner's parents as it's their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday. I started this card quite some weeks ago but kept changing my mind on what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to include the date but couldn't come up with any thing I was happy with. While I was messing around on Publisher inspiration struck! I chose a shape and added the date and 'voila' ! The rose is from an Elusive Images set as is the border stamp. I stamped the border with Versamark and then brushed some gold Perfect Pearls over the top. The rose was painted with H2Os and the edge of the card was run round with a gold metallic pen. The gold card was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the decorative edge is created using a Martha Stewart punch. The two tags are also printed from Publisher and I put an eyelet in both so that they would thread onto the ribbon easily. I'm quite pleased with this in the end, just need to make one more, but I'd better get my skates on being as the date is now only a couple of days away !

I wish this weather would make up it's mind, it was lovely and warm and sunny yesterday and then today it's windy and wet ! I would be quite happy, in a strange sort of way, if it was rainy for a few days as I've had a parcel delivery today and need time to have a play ! Mind you the kitchen is still staring at us so I'm going to have to do some juggling to fit it all in !

It's just not my week !

Sorry folks no card to share tonight because, you can't make this up, I've run out of double sided tape ! The card I'm in the middle of is for my partners, parents Golden Wedding Anniversary which is on Saturday. I've used my Stick It roller glue but it's just not strong enough for what I'm using. The tape is on order and I've got everything crossed that it comes tomorrow !

I'm counting this as the third thing to go wrong this week as not only have I ruined one of my favourite stamps but our washing machine is on the blink too !

Think it's time for some TV before bed, hopefully nothing else will go wrong now !

Father's Day

Well I don't need to explain why I made this card ...... lol ! I always find this a hard card to make as I lost my Dad several years ago and my heart just never seems to be in it. Any way I spotted some images that Sheila over on Manicstamper blog had used and thought they would be perfect. The main image and the background are downloaded from PC Crafter and the sentiment is one I printed from the computer. Everything was mounted on the spotty Bazill card that I am so in love with at the moment, and is also running out ! The white cord is threaded through some eyelets that I added with my Cropodile. It was good to get it out again as I've not used it in ages.

Well it's been a scorcher of a day here but unfortunately I've spent most of the day up to my arm pits in paint ! I've painted the kitchen ceiling and finished off the walls now that the sink has been taken out. Slight hiccup in the plans as the new sink is not in place yet, so that's tomorrow's job ( I hope !).

Tanda Teaser ' Beautiful Butterflies'

This card is for the Tanda Teaser this week called Beautiful Butterflies. The challenge is to make a card that features a butterfly on it. I loved this challenge as I love using butterflies on my cards. The background card was a piece of scrap that I'd brayered for another project but the colour caught my eye and thought it would be perfect with the Fantasy Film I wanted to use. I started by having a disaster though; I inked my stamp, put the Fantasy Film on top and then the vellum to protect the iron................what I'd completely forgotten was that clear stamps aren't as tough as the rubber ones and my beautiful butterfly stuck to the film and melted ! However, I wanted the background to look faint and not perfect and the damaged stamp worked a treat ! I even managed to scrape off the plastic from the film and still use the butterfly. The other stamp I used on the background is an old one from All Night Media that I picked up in a sale years ago. The main image is from the TJ Designs Vintage Collage set which I stamped onto another cut off of the brayered card. I swiped round the edge of the background and the main image with Caramel Adirondack. Everything was then mounted on to plain black card and a piece of dotty Bazill card was used on the side. The butterfly was attached with Glossy Accents ( I don't know what I'd do without this stuff !) and the dots are from a peel off sheet. I shall now have to go in search of a new butterfly stamp to replace the one I've ruined !
As we only got back off our holiday yesterday I thought I'd share just a couple of photo's of where we were. The above is the beautiful cottage we stayed in just outside a little village called Durrus in Southern Ireland and below is the wonderful view that we looked at all week. The weather was very kind as the forecast was blummin' awful !

Unfortunately, no little fairies had been in while we were away so the kitchen is still looking like a disaster zone ! I took the last of the tiles off today and tomorrow the new sink is going in. I shall be soooo glad when we're finished !
I'm going to do some blog hopping now as I've got a whole week of creations to catch up on.
Thanks for looking.

Cupcake

I think this has to be the quickest card I've ever put together ! The cup cake shape was hand drawn, then I stamped with Versamark and clear embossed onto the top part. Then using my brayer I went over the top of it with Brilliance ink, which is the challenge for the Tanda Teaser this week - to use the resist technique. The bottom of the cupcake I drew lines with a Versamark pen then again using my brayer went over the top with Adirondack ink so that the lines show through. The image is from a Personal Impressions set that I stamped with black Stazon and coloured with my Promarkers. This is also for the challenge on Passion for Promarkers, where the challenge is 'Apple and Pink'. The image was coloured with Promarkers - Apple, Meadow, Blossom, Blush, Vanilla and Ivory. All was mounted on to the green paper, which was free with a magazine, then onto some pink Bazill card. Flowers and pearl added for interest.

Well I need to pack now as we're off on holiday in about 3 hours so best get a move on !

Leaving to have a baby

I made this card for a lady at work who left today as she's having a baby. I didn't put 'Leaving to have a baby' on the card as I always think this is a bit of a mouthful ! So I settled for 'Good Luck' instead. The butterfly is from a set of K & Co stamps, which I stamped in black Stazon. I then cut it out with the square Nestabilities, swiped around the edge with Eggplant Adirondack ink and mounted it onto some Coredinations card cut out with the scalloped square Nestabilities. The background is Bazill card put through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I punched the thin piece that I cut off with my one and only Martha Stewart edge punch and glued it into position below the ribbon. The sentiment and pearls were coloured with my peel off pens ( I don't know what I'd do without them now!). The striped paper was a small off cut so I've no idea who it's by.

It's been lovely again today but it's turned really close now, but I don't think we're going to get a storm to clear the air.

We now have our hob fitted in the kitchen so we can now function almost normally. It's amazing how you can manage with a microwave when you have to !

First birthday

I made this card for a friend's little girl who is one today ! I've had this stamp for years and he still makes an appearance from time to time even now. I stamped him in black Stazon and then gave my Pro-markers their first outing ! I've finally succumbed and bought 'one or two' colours. I thought I would start with something simple so I coloured the bear with just two colours :-

: Pastel Pink
: Blossom

This is also the first challenge over on Passion for Promarkers, where you can do any thing as long as you list the colours you've used.

I then cut him out with the circle Nestabilities and mounted him onto a scalloped Nestability. The checked paper is from the Basic Grey set, Two Scoops. This was all mounted onto Bazill card and the number and letters of the word today were coloured with a peel off pen.

Well another glorious day today as was yesterday. We had a great time in the park with the whole family, long may this weather continue !
