Winter Wonderland - gift bags

This is a quick post tonight as I'm absolutely shattered ! And it's only Wednesday ! These are two little gift bags that I've made using a template from the latest Craft Stamper magazine and the other one is from Splitcoast Stampers. They are for the Winter Wonderland challenge which is to make a gift bag or box or wrapping paper. The stamps I've used are two Papermania Duos which I've stamped with Adirondack ink on the Let it Snow bag and with black Memento on the bauble bag.

For this bag I've also stamped the snowflake onto clear shrink plastic and I've added some ribbon and thread around the centre. The main image is cut out with circle Nestabilities. I've added some stickles for a little glitter.

To highlight the detail on the bauble I've used a white Souffle pen. The swirl is from a Hot of the Press set of stamps called Winter Swirls.
You can tell it's getting to the Christmas season as I've got Stickles everywhere ......lol....I don't know how I manage to get into such a mess !

Tanda Teaser 'Text it'

This card is actually for 2 challenges, Tanda Teaser - to use text and also for the Mojo Monday sketch. First of all I brayered some glossy card stock with Adirondack inks in Butterscotch, Caramel, Rust, Stonewashed and Denim. I then stamped the main image from a Katzelkraft set of stamps in Memento black ink and cut it out with Labels One Nestabilities. The text stamp is from a Serendipity set and was stamped onto another piece of brayered glossy card in black Memento ink and cut out with Labels One. The background card is Bazill and I've added ribbon and black pearls.

This shot shows the colours a little better and also the different colours of the brayering.
I think that Autumn has to be my favourite season of the year and the colours that are starting to appear are just amazng. I think that is what inspired me to use these colours for this card. I really love these stamps from Katzelkraft so they will be appearing again very soon !

Thanks Sharon !

Ready Steady Stamp Week 6

The menu for the Ready Steady Stamp challenge this week is as below :

So for the challenge this is the card I've made.

The main image and the heart are stamps that I actually won from my friend Sheila who was having a sort out and did a drawer on her blog (which is excellent so make sure you check it out!). I stamped the images in black Memento ink then mounted the main image onto white card. The heart is actually part of a larger stamp, but I just wanted to use this part of it. I also stamped it in black Memento ink and then lightly shaded it around the edge with a pink Pro Marker. I then mounted it onto my corrugated card, which I had to make myself as I didn't have any. The pink paper is Basic Grey and the swirls are a Crafty Individuals stamp and are stamped in Versafine Smokey Grey and the word is stamped in black Stazon. I cut the bracket using my Cricut machine and added a pearl.

I had run out of the grey Basic Grey paper I wanted to use for the background so I used my favourite technique at the moment. I inked some white card using Adirondack Slate ink then using my sanding block, dragged it across the surface. I then masked off the centre of the card and stamped the swirls with Versamark and rubbed chalk over it so they showed more as a watermark than a definite print.
I really enjoyed making this card, you should have seen my hands when I'd finished though...lol... I feel alot less stressed than when I walked in from work after nearly 2 hours on the road. It normally only takes me 50 minutes to drive home but there was an accident on the M1 and guess who was stuck in it ! I think I've just got time for some blog hopping before bed.

Happy Birthday Sammy

It's my youngest niece's birthday on Tuesday and this is the card I've made for her. It also fits with two challenges as I've used the sketch challenge by Nikki from A Spoon Full of Sugar and the colour challenge from Colour Create of hot pink, dusky pink and ice chocolate. The main image is a Rubber Romance stamp which I've stamped in black Memento then shaded with Pro Markers. I've used Labels 8 Nestabilities and to cut it out then layered into dusky pink Bazill card. I've embossed the jaunty angle piece of brown card with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. The two buttons are from a Papermania set of stamps which I've stamped directly onto the card and then shaded with Pro Markers. I've then added thread through the centre of the button images. The charm is from a set I picked up from one of those cheap book shops.

You can see the charm a little easier on this shot. The flowers have a small brown brad in the centre and the paper is Basic Grey that I've swiped Vintage Photo distress ink around the edge.
So where has this week end gone ! I can't believe it's Sunday night already. I've not been any where today and it's been great. Don't you just love doing your shopping on the internet, it's just a pity they don't want to unpack it and put it away too !

Moving house !

Unfortunately, no it's not me, this is for a friend at work who will be moving house on Monday. I'm sure that she will be far too busy at the moment to see her card here ( well I hope so !). I've been thinking about this card for a couple of days so it went together quite quickly when I eventually sat down to do it. It actually fits with three challenges which I have to be honest was more luck than judgement ! The challenges are : Our Creative Corner - Monochromatic Mania; My Time to Craft - Autumn; C.R.A.F.T - no backing paper. The first thing I did was to ink a piece of cream card with Vintage Photo distress ink until it was completely covered. Then I used a sanding block and dragged it across the card until it looked slightly lighter and distressed. Then I stamped the tree, which is from Katzelkraft stamp set, in Vintage Photo and used some bleach to highlight the leaves. The swirls are also stamped with Vintage Photo, the leaves were stamped with Versamark then brown chalk rubbed over the top. I mounted this onto some Coredinations card which I also rubbed the sanding block over. The houses are embossed using the Winter House Cuttlebug embossing folder which I've also sanded and cut out using Labels 5 Nestabilities. The ribbon I've dragged across the Vintage Photo ink pad so that it toned in with the card.

You can see the detail of the bleaching and chalking on the close up photo. Even though I've taken this photo during the day the colours are still not true to life, the colours should be alot richer.
I have to say a big thank you to my friend Sheila for this technique with the sanding block. I absolutely love it so this could well be popping up again in the near future ! I've had a lovely day today, it started with having my hair done so I've got rid of all the grey for a few weeks ...lol.... I need to mention Elaine, my hairdresser, as we had a lovely chat this morning and put the world to rights. I then had a mosey over to a local craft shop, and then spent the rest of the day ( not much left ) in my craft room. If only there were more days like today !

What a day !

I have had an absolutely fab day today. I've spent the whole day with a wonderful lady called Sheila, aka Manicstamper, and these are the creations that we've made. The first card was made using a technique of applying Adirondack ink to the card with cotton wool and then dragging a sanding block across it. It gives this most wonderful distressed look. Then we stamped the snowflake with Versamark ink and chalked it. The main image was stamped with Versamark and then clear embossed onto glossy card and then Adirondack ink rubbed over the top. We then stamped 3 snowflakes across the bottom in the Adirondack ink and added some Stickles.

This shot shows the background a little better and also the snowflakes across the bottom.

This card was a really simple, but elegant card made with white and silver card. The white card has been embossed using Cuttlebug embossing folder then some Stickles added to the centre of the snowflake.

I think you can just about see the Stickles in the centre. It was difficult to get the camera to pick it up.

All the pieces on this card are made from chip board that has been die cut and with the background and the bird, put through the Cuttlebug using embossing folders. We then used acrylic paint and for the background rubbed the embossed surface with ink, apologies I can't remember which sort, then rubbed it with a baby wipe. The bird was sprayed with Glimmer Mist and we pressed Versamark ink all over the swirl then sprinkled brown and gold embossing powder over the top. When it was heated it gave it a wonderful aged metal look. The flower had blue glue added to it and when it had gone clear we added a mixture of gold leaf.

We gently bent the bird so that he would stand out from the card and this shot shows the dimension.

The last card we made was done using the wax paper resist technique. A piece of wax paper was put through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder then it was put onto some white card and ironed on the reverse. Meadow Adirondack ink was rubbed over the top to reveal the pattern. The flowers were stamped over the top with black ink and clear embossed. They were then painted using Adirondack inks.
All in all a very enjoyable day and I wish I could do it more often. I want to say a big thank you to Sheila I can't think of a better way to spend a day.

Tanda Teaser ' In the Wild' plus 2

This is my card for the Tanda Teaser this week which is 'In the Wild' ,also for the Stamp Something challenge which is to use your favourite colours or papers and also for the Pink Elephant challenge which is a brill sketch. The main image is from a set of Inkadinkado stamps which I absolutely love. The stamps are really cleverly designed as the more you look at them the more you can see. If you look closely you can see that the image is made up of other animals/birds. I managed to do the out side the Nesties technique, where certain parts of the image are not cut out when you put it through your die cutter. I've then painted it with H2Os as I wanted it to look really bright and colourful. I put a piece of brown card stock through my Cuttlebug using the Victoria embossing folder and it's all mounted onto Basic Grey paper (my favourite paper!).
I've also stamped the image again onto shrink plastic and coloured it on the reverse side with Pro Markers. Unfortunately, the photo doesn't pick it up too well. The sentiment is from a TJ Designs set of stamps called Vintage Collage that I've stamped in Teal Blue Stazon onto Basic Grey paper and the pearls are coloured with a brown peel off pen.
I feel a little more like myself tonight, I had the most awful headache last night so it was a quiet one for me. I've been itching to get back into my craft room all day as this idea came to me this morning. Thankfully it worked out as there's nothing worse when a plan doesn't come together !

Meet Babs !

This is my card for 3 challenges; Passion for Pro Markers, The Pink Elephant and Secret Crafter. Passion for Pro Markers was to use any colours but to include polka dots. The Pink Elephant challenge is 'Back to school' and the Secret Crafter challenge is 'One for the girls'. I need to explain why I thought of this for 'Back to school'. My sister is a school teacher and when she goes back to school after the holidays at the end of the day one of her favourite things to do is to disappear into the bathroom for a nice long soak. Whenever I see any image like this I always think of her so when I spotted this stamp by Rubber Romance it was a must have (the stamp's called Babs !). The image is quite large so I opted to do an A5 card and it's worked really well. I stamped with black Memento ink then shaded with Pro Markers in different shades of blue. I've shaded the bubbles with the Pastel Blue Pro Marker and then added some Glossy Accents to some of them. The papers are by Pebbles inc and Making Memories and I've used a Fiskars punch on the Making Memories paper. The Pebbles inc paper is acutally a blue polka dot but it hasn't shown up too well on the photo. I've used Labels 8 to cut out the main image and then used an embossing tool to draw around the largest die and cut it out to mount the image on to. The sentiment was done on the PC and I've used Labels 9 to cut it out and sponged some Stonewashed Adirondack ink around the edge then rubbed Denim Adirondack ink around the edge for definition.

I was hoping that you would be able to see the detail of the Glossy Accents on the bubbles, but think I've failed !

It's such a shame I have to go back to work tomorrow, I've had a wonderful day today. I've sorted some of my stamps, and got them onto EZMount. God that stuff is sticky ! Getting my 'non-stick' scissors clean after that was very tricky ! My Mum's coming round for tea tonight so 'C's' cooking one of his wicked curries, I can already smell it, it's making me feel extremely hungry !

Recipe Wallet

This is something that I've made for my Mum, she's had a bit of a rough time of late so I wanted to make a little something to make her smile. It also fits with the SophistiCat challenge which is to make any kind of wallet. The template for this was a free download from Papertrey Ink so I thought I would give it a go, and it was really easy to put together.

The paper is Basic Grey and I've punched the edge with a Fiskars punch. I've used ordinary brown and turquoise card stock. The panel on the front is cut using Labels 9 Nestabilities and then I've sponged some Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks around the edge. The word is made using peel off letters that I've coloured with brown peel off pens.

Inside I've covered the pockets with the same Basic Grey paper and then just popped in some label cards to get Mum started. I haven't had time today, but I'm going to type up some recipes for her too.
I really enjoyed making this and with more time I would have done some stamping and added more embellisments. I think the time fairy has definitely stolen some hours today as I don't know where the day has gone ! It's been absolutely beautiful all day and it's been lovely having the doors and windows open. No doubt it will all change tomorrow !

PVA resist

This is my card for the challenge over on Ready Steady Stamp. There is a menu of 5 items that have to be included on your card, including one technique, and no cute images allowed ! The main image is from a set of Inkadinkado stamps which is stamped with black Stazon. I've then mixed PVA glue with alcohol inks to paint the image. When it was dry I sponged Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks over the top, and then rubbed the ink off the painted areas with a baby wipe. I added a small black gem for it's eye. The areas of glue and ink are actually quite shiny. I've then stamped the corners with stamps from the Physalis set of stamps by Katzelkraft including swirls and flowers. The frame is made from Labels 9 Nestabilities and I've sponged Distress Inks over it before mounting it on foam pads. The background papers are Basic Grey and I've used the Martha Stewart Doilly Lace edge punch. I've done a simple running stitch down the centre of the ribbon and gathered it slightly before adding the buttons which are bu Blonde Moments. The butterfly is also from the Physalis set of stamps and is stamped in black Stazon onto acetate.

I've tried to show the detail here but I think I need to work out where the camera needs to focus ! You can just about see the butterfly which I folded slightly in two so that the wings would stand up.
Well today didn't quite go as planned but I've still had some quality time in my craft room. I did my token effort on the house work front this morning, I wouldn't mind but it will need doing again next week ! I'm now going to do some mounting of stamps onto EZMount as I need to get the stamps I bought last week end into some sort of order, so that they're ready to play with tomorrow !
Thanks for looking.

Teenage boys !

This is my card for the Secret Crafter challenge which was Teenage Boys. I've really enjoyed making this card, the idea came to me earlier on today and I had to grab a piece of paper and write everything down till I could get to my craft room tonight. The photo, as usual, doesn't do the colours justice. The background is cream card that I've stamped the leaves on to, from a Katzelkraft stamp set, first of all in Antique Linen and then I've stamped the odd one this time with Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress inks. I've also sponged some Antique Linen and Vintage Photo around the edge. I then wiped the inside of the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder with the Vintage Photo ink and embossed some cream card. I sponged some more Antique Linen over the top, I wanted it to look like the main image was standing by a fence. The main image is from the Ollyfants Autumn 2 set and has been stamped with Smokey Grey Versafine then shaded with Pro Markers. The card I used was really thick and the Pro Markers ink was really sucked into it. I quite like the effect as it's not as smooth as normal. I've touched up the face features with a black Faber Castell pen, then sponged some Distress inks round the edge. The football was stamped with black Memento then I used the Distress inks to paint it so it looked shabby, and could have been rolling around in the mud. The leaves are punched from card that I've sponged a mixture of Distress inks onto.
This shows some of the detail, I particularly liked the effect of the Distress ink on the embossed card.
Friday at last and all being well I have some quality time in my craft room tomorrow. I desperately need to do some tidying as I can hardly see the floor let alone my table top ! I suppose I'd better do the token house work effort first thing, then I'm not moving all day !
Thanks for looking.

It's official .....winter's here !

Is it me or has the temperature dropped like a stone ? I've given in and put the heating on so that's it, it must be winter ! This card is rather apt given today's temperature drop and is my card for 2 challenges; Mojo Monday and One Stop Craft. The images are all from a Katzelkraft set of stamps and have been stamped with Stazon Teal Blue. The background is Basic Grey paper and I've stamped on to scrap card then onto the paper so the image is a little fainter. I've added some white opal Liquid Pearls to the images and sponged some Teal Blue around the edge. I've used circle Nestabilites to cut them out and mounted them onto foam pads. The lace border is a roll of self adhesive paper lace I bought some time ago, and it's a real devil to stick down as it sticks to itself ! The sentiment is from a set of Tanda Stamps and I've added some gems for sparkle.

It's been a really grey day where we are today, and it's gone cold too - hence the heating ! I can't bear to be cold so as soon as the weather turns that's it on it goes. I shall be putting the thicker quilt back on the bed tomorrow too, not quite bed socks yet but it won't be long !

Tanda Teaser ' Monochrome Madness'

This is my card for the Tanda Teaser this week which is Monochrome Madness. I did toy with getting away from black and white but I do love it, so gave in, in the end ! The main image is a Crafty Individuals stamp that I've stamped in Smokey Grey Versafine ink. I've then cut it out using a square Nestability and mounted it onto a black scalloped square Nestability. The papers are all Basic Grey and on the pale grey I've stamped the corners with another Crafty Individuals stamp in black Memento ink. The word is from an Elusive Images set of stamps and has been stamped in Smokey Grey Versafine too and mounted onto black card.

I've added some small black gems to the word and also to the stamped corners, which I think you can just about see on this photo.
I've managed to get this card done a little earlier tonight even though at first I just couldn't get going. I think the fact that the nights are drawing in is making me feel really tired. Although I do love Autumn I do hate the days getting shorter, especially when it's that time of the year when you go out in the dark and come home in the dark. Roll on Spring !

Colour Create - Neon Green & Black

This is my card for the Colour Create challenge which is, as you've guessed from the title, Neon Green and Black. Unfortunately, taking photos at night time doesn't do much for the colours. The main image is a Crafty Individuals stamp, cut out with Nestabilities Labels 8 and sponged with Distress Inks - Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. The background is made from the same ink sponged onto white card and then the images stamped in black Stazon. The embossed card is made with white card stock put through the Cuttlebug using the Victoria embossing folder and then sponged with the Distress inks. The ribbon has been pleated and a stitch is holding it in place with the pearl hiding the stitch.
I thought I would do a close up to show the pleated ribbon, not bad for my first try !
Thank goodness Monday is over with I always feel it's down hill from here. We had to go and do our food shopping tonight as we were away at the week end, I hate having to go on a Monday. It's just like rubbing salt into the wound.

Twice in one night !

This is my card for the challenge over on The Pink Elephant challenge site. When I first saw the colour combination I couldn't get my head around it. But having had a little craft retail therapy this week end, this came to me in a flash ! The main image is from a set of Inkadinkado stamps and when I saw this bird I just had to have them. I've painted him using Distress inks in Fired Brick, Antique Linen and Scattered Straw. I've cut him out using Nestabilities and sponged some ink around the edge. The swirl stamp is also a new one which is by Crafty Individuals, I'm rather addicted to swirls so when I saw this it flew to my hand quite literally ! I've stamped it in black stazon along with the butterfly which is from the new set of stamps by Katzelkraft called Physalis. I've then sponged the Distress inks around the edge and also swiped black Memento ink over the edge.
We headed back from Surrey today and we thought being as we were so close to the coast we would go to see the sea. So we headed off to Brighton, being the closest place. Little did we know that there has been a motorcycle event all week end and as we got closer we were literally surrounded by motorcycles ! It got quite hairy at one point as they were everywhere so we had to make a drastic maneouvre to get out of the way ! We managed, eventually, to get to the sea and there were even some mad people swimming in it !
Thanks for looking.

Passion for Promarker challenge

This is my card for the Passion for Promarker challenge this week which is to use Sandstone and Blue Pearl. The main image is a different from my usual style and was a swap with my friend Vic. I think she's an Anya stamp, but don't hold me to that ! She's been shaded with Pastel Blue, Blue Pearl and China Blue as well as Pastel Beige and Sandstone and cut out using Nestabilities Labels 8. The background paper is Basic Grey which I've used a Fiskars edge punch on and the card is Bazill. I've added some Stickles to the centre of the flowers and to the main images buttons. If you've not already been to the Passion for Promarker site you need to get over there as they're doing their first ever Blog Hop and the prize is all of the brand new Promarker colours. How cool is that !

Well to say I've had a good week end is an under statement. I've had a fabulous week end ! Yesterday we headed south to Surrey so that I could go to the open week end at The Craft Barn. I was dropped off at the shop with instructions to ring if I'd had enough, well after 3 hours I was ready for a cup of tea so made the call. It was great to see all of the demonstrators and for me to meet Beatrice Neumeister who is the master mind behind Katzelkraft stamps was a real treat. I also picked up 'one or two' bits.......

Back in action !

It feels good to be back in my craft room, it's amazing the feeling you get when you can't get your hands on any ink or paper ! So, this card is actually for 2 challenges, the Papertake challenge and the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge. Also, this is a card for my friend as I have been the most luckiest person today as my wonderful friend Vic has given me this gorgeous box (see below photo) with loads of goodies inside ! The main image on my card above is one of the images that was in the box and is perfect for the Secret Crafter challenge which is 'hearts and flowers'. I shaded the hearts with ProMarkers then sponged some Antique Linen Distress ink and some Pearlescent Orchid Brilliance ink around the edge. I've also swiped Vintage Photo Distress ink across the edges. This is mounted onto a piece of white card which I've also sponged, that has been put through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The paper is Basic Grey and the sentiment is a Serendipity stamp. I've swiped Vintage Photo around the edges of all of the card and the paper.

Isn't this just the most gorgeous thing !

And just look at all the goodies inside ! I think it's great when a crafter receives something that another crafter has made. We're always making things for other people so we don't get to receive any thing our selves very often, and yet we are the ones that will treasure them the most.
Right I'm off to print out the directions for tomorrow. It will take us about 3 hours to drive down to Surrey, that will give me plenty of time to ponder on all the wonderful things that will be demonstrated. It's set to be a lovely week end too, so 'C' may even get to take some photo's. How good is that !
Thanks for looking.

Just a quickie....I won !

Sorry no card to show again tonight, been out for a meal and far too shattered to do anything. I had a lovely surpise though when I logged on, I've won The Pink Elephant Challenge for this week and will be show cased in Ella's Hall of Fame for the next 6 months ! Had to look twice to believe it !

Will be back in my craft room tomorrow, but I've got a treat on Saturday as I'm off down to Surrey to The Craft Barn's open week end. I'm really excited as there's so many demonstrators and the Katzelkraft stamp designer is coming over from France too !

Thanks for stopping by.

Tanda Teaser 'Summer Fun'

This is my card for the Tanda Teaser this week which is 'Summer Fun'. The main image is one of my favourites and I think of it each time I need to do a Summer card. I stamped the image onto a Post It note first so that I could mask the first image and then stamp again so that they appear staggered. I cut them out using Nestabilities Labels 8 then sponged ink around the edge. I mounted it onto Bazill card and lightly water coloured the huts with my water colour pencils. The swirl is from the Chippies Hearts and Swirls set. I've stamped the sentiment on to it and then sponged ink over the top. Got quite messy at one point ! I then used the shape that the Chippie came from as a stencil and sponged some ink through it for the background 'waves'. Quite a simple card but it still took me ages to do ! I really do need to be more decisive !

I had my lunch with my friend Sarah today and I promised I would mention her on my blog tonight. Sarah is a fellow crafter and although she doesn't have a blog, she follows quite a few of us. We obviously discussed lots of things all related to crafting, best way to spend a lunch time I think !

Mojo 103

This is my card for the Mojo Monday challenge. The inspiration for the colours came from a set of chipboard pieces made by DCWV. In the end I've only used the sentiment, but I loved the cream and black together. The main image is my new butterfly, which is from a Basic Grey set of stamps. It's stamped in black Memento ink and the cut out with Nestabilities Labels Nine. I've sponged Antique Linen and Scattered Straw Distress Ink around the edge of all of the pieces of cream card. The centre of the butterfly isn't actually dry, as it's Glossy Accents, and I've added some black pearls and black gems. The ribbon is actually the star on this card as it's a piece I rescued from work that was going to be thrown away ! It matches this card perfectly !

First day back at work and the sun's been out all day ! I couldn't believe how warm it was when I came home. We had a comfort tea tonight with lots of mashed potatoe, gorgeous ! Must get back on the diet tomorrow.

Catching up !

I've managed to just finish this card in time for the Passion for Promarkers challenge and also for the Pink Elephant challenge. Passion for Promarkers challenge is girly and sparkly and the Pink Elephant challenge is one ribbon, 2 squares and something that sparkles. I really wanted to add another layer but restrained my self. The main image is a Clarity stamp that I've stamped onto the card once then stamped onto a Post It note and cut it out. This then sticks over the first shoe and masks it while I stamped the second shoe. I've then shaded them with green Pro Markers. I really wanted to do red but I've not got any Pro Markers in that colour so looks like that will be my next purchase ! The papers are all Basic Grey and I've stamped around the shoes with some stamps from a Basic Grey set I picked up last week. I've then sponged ink around the edge and swiped ink on the edge of the card instead of layering it onto a darker piece. The swirls on the green paper are from the Basic Grey set of stamps called Two Scoops and I've stamped it in Adirondack Lettuce. The edge is punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch and the gems are all self adhesive. The colours haven't come out too well as the greens are alot more vivid than in the photo.

I really wish my feet would fit into a pair of shoes like this....not much chance of that with my boats ....lol.......! Well it's back to work tomorrow, which is not a happy thought, but looking on the bright side if I didn't go I couldn't buy any craft stash......which is an even worse thought !

Thanks for looking.
Sue

Wedding Wishes

This card is for a lady at work who gets married this week and I made it so that it would have an aged look using Distress Inks in Antique Linen and Scattered Straw. This also fits with the challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar and also the Colour Create challenge, which was to use the colours gold, cream, ruby with the option of gems. The hearts are cut out on my Cricut machine and the larger hearts have then been put through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls embossing folder. I've then used Distress Inks around the edge of both hearts. The backgrounds are both from the Pink Petticoat Sweet Flourishes set. I've used the Distress inks on the backgrounds too so that it dulled the colour a little. I then dug out my Fiskars Shape Boss, which I haven't used in ages, and dry embossed the lines at the corners of the background card. I've used a wine coloured Bazill card to mount the background and the main image onto to give it that vintage feel. The little red gem heart is attached to the ribbon with Glossy Accents.

I actually started this card 3 times yesterday and each one I took apart ! I'm amazed that I've actually managed to finish it ! I think all of the rain we had last week has got to me. Of course now we're home the sun came out today and I've even pegged out my holiday washing ! Don't you just love the British weather !

The ark is nearly ready......

Well if we thought it had rained alot yesterday, today has to take the biscuit ! No kidding, we would be better with a small boat up here in Cumbria than a car!

Any way, I've managed to squeeze some crafting time out of today while 'C' is in the kitchen preparing tea. This is my card for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, which proved to be quite difficult as everything I wanted to used was back at home ! The main image is from a set of Katzelkraft stamps as is the sentiment. I stamped it with black Memento ink onto cream card then sponged some Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edge. It's cut out using circle Nestabilities and mounted on Basic Grey paper which is cut out with the Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. I sponged the paper too as I didn't want it as white. All of the papers are Basic Grey and I've added gold stickles to the bird and some red stickles in the bottom left hand corner.

I'm looking forward to getting back to my craft room as it's been a real challenge making something with a very limited stash. I can honestly say this has been the worst week's holiday we've ever had with regards to the weather. It has just not stopped raining all week ! We're hoping for one last chance to go out walking tomorrow, fingers crossed !

It rained...........and then it rained some more !

What a day ! I've never seen rain like it and at one point I thought the wind was going to whisk us away as well ! So what better way to calm the nerves than to do a little crafting.....and dry off !
This card is for the Tanda Teaser this week called Floral Fantasy. The main image is from an Elusive Images set of stamps that I can't remember the name of, apologies. It was stamped in black Memento ink then I sponged ink around the edge and rounded the corners with a punch. The strips were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the floral strip was made with a stamp from the same Elusive Images set and then I stamped with the Rubber Stamp Tapestry called Yumy's Garden, along it. I used this set to stamp the corners too. The flowers and leaves are punched and I added a gem to the centre of them.
It's my other half's birthday today so I feel quite honoured that he's let me craft while he's cooked the tea. I think I've definintely got it right ! The weather has been pretty awful today so we're keeping everything crossed that tomorrow will be better. If not there may just be another card to post !
Thanks for looking.
