I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge #8

This is my first card as DT member for I ♥ ProMarkers. The challenge for this week is to follow the above sketch with the added twist of using swirls/flourishes. This challenge is also being sponsored by Willow Designs and there's a fab CD up for grabs. Make sure you check out the rest of the DT creations !

I'm also putting this card in for the following challenges:

• Secret Crafter - Pink, Green and flowers (my flowers are on the backing paper)

The DT were all given an image to use from Willow Designs and mine is called Winnie. I've rotated the sketch as the image looked better this way round. After shading the image with ProMarkers I then cut it out with Labels 4 Nestabilites. The backing paper is also from Willow Designs and I've printed it onto basic white card stock. Then I've used a stamp by Elusive Images to add a little detail on the centre strip by colouring the stamp with a ProMarker and stamping it onto the paper.

The corner shapes are a Cuttlebug die and the swirls are a Sizzix Sizzlet die. The sentiment is done on my PC and I've swiped around the edge with Faded Lipstick Distress ink (couldn't not use some somewhere!)

As you can see, not my usual style which made it a good challenge for me, and I got to use some ProMarker colours I'd not used before and I really love now ! This card is also quite special as it's for a very good friend of mine who's birthday is today....so Happy Birthday Vic ! I'm hoping that she will have received and opened it by now otherwise it won't be much of a surprise!

Flower Tag

This is my card for the following challenges :

• Our Creative Corner - Sketch
• Gingersnap Creations - Growth
• Creative Card Crew - Vintage/aged

I started by blending Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Brushed Corduroy and Broken China Distress inks over the tag. I then stamped the swirls, which is from the Baroque Motifs Stampin' Up set, with Crushed Olive. The flower was stamped with Archival black ink as was the word, which are both from the Bloomin' with Beauty Stampin' Up set. The vertical strip has had Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive blended over it. The main stamp is from an Elusive Images set and I stamped it with Peeled Paint. The words are from a Paper Artsy set and have been stamped with Crushed Olive. The border is a Martha Stewart deep punch and I've blended Brushed Corduroy over it, as well as over the main card edges. The background has had the same green Distress inks blended over it then I've stamped the swirl again with Crushed Olive.

The 3 brads have been treated to some Alcohol inks to change their colour to a deeper one. The main brad is a Marah Johnson (I've only got one left!!).

It's been a real April showers day again today, I was hoping to go out for a walk tonight, but I don't think that's going to happen now. Well I'm supposed to be on tea duty tonight so I'd better go and see what chaos I can cause in the kitchen !

Dream in green !

This is my card for the following challenges :

• Papertake - sketch
• Die Cut Dreams - Black, white and one other colour
• Fab 'n' Funky - It's all in the technique

The two main background pieces have been made using a resist technique, which I think is my favourite as it still uses Distress Inks, which are definitely at the top of my list ! I blended some Crushed Olive Distress Ink around the edge then I stamped with Versamark ink. The script stamp is a Stampin' Up stamp called En Francais and the border stamp is from an Elusive Images stamp set. I clear embossed them and then blended some more Crushed Olive over the top. The flowers were cut using a Sizzix Bigz die and I've then blended Crushed Olive over them before glueing them down.

The main image is a Crafty Individuals stamp and she's mounted on black card and then on Labels 3 Nestabilities. The white layer has had more Crushed Olive blended around the edge. The word is from a Rubbadubbado set.

My Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities arrived at the week end and I've not had time to experiment yet. I wanted to have a go at the Blended Batik technique but didn't have the right paper to soak up the embossing powder, so had to leave it as just an ink resist effect. Looks like I need to go shopping .....what a shame !

Springtime puppy !

This is my card for the following challenges :

• The Pink Elephant - Sketch
• Passion for ProMarkers - Springtime and include an animal
• Charisma Cardz - Spring has Sprung

The main image is another free stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine which I've stamped with black Memento ink. I inked the flower with Distress ink and then went over it with a Lime Green ProMarker. I then shaded the puppy with ProMarkers. I've cut it out with a circle Nestability and sponged some Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress ink around the edge before removing the die.

The paw prints are hand drawn with a Cinammon ProMarker then cut out with the smallest circle Nestability. The flowers and leaves are a Sizzix Bigz die and the paper is My Minds Eye.

Well today has been better weather than we thought, we managed to go out walking this morning......my legs have still not recovered ....lol........It was lovely to see all of the daffodils in bloom and even better that it was still light at 7.45PM !

Altered and exciting news !

So first things first......I've been asked to join the I ♥ ProMarkers Design Team ! Woohoo ! Really pleased ( can you guess!)

So now onto my altered project which I'm putting in for the Tuesday Taggers challenge of Altered ? You bet ! I've had this pot for ages and kept thinking I should do something with it.


So I started by covering the pot with Lettuce alcohol ink then went over it with Stream and then finished with Pesto.

I dabbed some gold alcohol ink onto the lid and then glued the beads on the lid with Glossy Accents.

I really wanted some Grunge Paper for the flowers but I've had a real job trying to find some in stock ! So these flowers were punched from card, using an EK Success punch then I've sponged Distress ink over them and then covered them with Glossy Accents. While the GA was still wet I added some Stickles.

I have to say it turned out better than I thought it would. I've tracked down some Grunge Paper so when it arrives will be experimenting with it. Well it's been real April Showers today, so far I've managed to dodge them..long may it continue...lol.... !

Green Wellies !

This is my card for the following challenges :

• Little Paper Shop - Sketch


• ABC challenge - Q is for quote


• Quixotic challenge - Monochromatic


• Creative Card Crew - Going Dotty

The wellies are from a Joanna Sheen stamp set and I've stamped them with black Memento ink and then shaded with Pro Markers. I've cut them out with a deckle edged Nestability and sponged Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress inks around the edge before removing the die and then blended some more around the edge once the die was removed. The quote is from a set of Serendipity stamps and I've treated this the same as the wellies apart from I've used the leaves from a Rubber Stamp Tapestry set and stamped at the bottom of the quote.

The dotty background paper is Pink Petticoat Angel Dots in Olive and I've blended some more Distress ink around the edge. The leaves are also from the same Serendipity set as the quote. I cut the top piece of paper into the shape as per the sketch and then put another piece underneath. I've then randomly stitched around the edge of the top layer. The pearls are coloured with my Moss ProMarker.

I had great fun making this card as I am so in love with the colour green at the moment, especially when I'm using my Distress Inks at the same time ! I keep looking at the new colours that have been released I can see a few of them coming my way in the not too distant future !

I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge

This is the sketch challenge over on I ♥ ProMarkers this week with the added twist of using spots/dots on your project. This is my third week as GDT, the weeks are flying by ! I'm also putting this card in for the Die Cut Dreams challenge of New Beginnings and Crafty Creations challenge of Babies.

The main image is a Joanna Sheen stamp, which is stamped with black Memento ink then shaded with Pro Markers. I then cut it out with the Deckle Edged Oval Nestabilities and sponged some Faded Lipstick Distress Ink around the edge before removing the die. The horizontal pieces are punched with a Martha Stewart lace doily punch and the background paper is Pink Petticoat and actually has pink dots on it, though the photo hasn't picked them up !

The sentiment was done on the PC and then cut out with a Fancy Tag and I sponged some more Faded Lipstick over it before removing the die. The main flowers are cut using the die in the Olivia Alphabet set and the smaller ones have been punched with a Woodware punch.

If you've visited before you'll know that pink and me really do not mix....lol......but this card was also for an order so I had to bite the bullet. I'm a little later posting this than planned as tea was abandonned when we realised we hadn't got the ingredients we needed so it was off to the indian...which was very nice too !

Easter Rooster !

This is the first ever Easter card I've made ! I didn't have any fluffy chick stamps so thought that an Easter Rooster would fit the bill.....lol.......I'm putting this card in for the following challenges:

I saw the reflection technique in this month's Craft Stamper and decided it was time to have a go ! I inked up the rooster, which is a Stampin' Up stamp from a hostess set, with Smokey Grey Versafine ink and then rolled my brayer over it, so that the image transferred to the roller. I then positioned it over the card and rolled the image on to it. I then stamped the image with black Stazon the right way up. I added some Fired Brick Distress ink to his head. I used the same technique with the grasses. I brayered Stonewashed Adirondack ink over the bottom and top of the card then over the edges brayered some Denim Adirondack ink. I masked off the top image and sponged some more Denim ink and also some Pesto ink along the dividing line. The small button is a stamp from the same Stampin' Up set that I've cut out with the smallest circle Nestability and rubbed some Stonewashed and Denim ink around the edge.

The sentiment was done on my PC and cut out with a Fancy Tag and I've rubbed some Pesto ink over it before removing the die.

The problem with this technique is that you get very, very inky fingers ! I should have photographed them as they are completely covered ! Good job it comes off ! Well I was going to watch Larkrise to Candleford tonight on the iPlayer but I got carried away with my ink, so may be tomorrow night !

Spring is in the air !

This is my card for the following challenges :

The main image is a good old faithful that I've had for years. It's from a Rubbadubbado set of stamps and I've stamped it with black Memento ink and shaded with Pro Markers. I then cut it out with Labels 4 Nestabilities and blended some Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress inks around the edge.

All of the papers are from the My Minds Eye Bloom 'n' Grow set and they've all been mounted onto some Stampin' Up textured card (sorry I don't know the colour).



Well it really does feel like Spring has sprung as it's been a beautiful day, such a contrast from yesterday. We managed to go out walking for a couple of hours this morning, it was a real pleasure. Let's hope we get some more sunshine this week !

Friday Sketchers Golden Wedding

I've made this card for an order for a Golden Wedding anniversary. I don't know why but anything to do with weddings I always struggle with, so this has taken me pretty much all day to do ! I'm also putting this card in for the following challenges :

• Friday Sketchers - Sketch
• Stamp Something - Distressed Somethings
• Cute Card Thursday - Happy Anniversary

I started by stamping the main image, which is by Inkadinkado, with black Stazon ink and then water colouring it with Distress Inks. I cut it out with Labels 8 Nestabilities and sponged some Antique Linen and Scattered Straw Distress Inks around the edge. The embossed panel has been made using the Victoria embossing folder. I then took the Scattered Staw ink pad and rubbed it over the card. I made the left hand panel by blending Antique Linen and Scattered Straw over a piece of white card and then blending Tea Dye around the edge. I then used my Stampin' Up background stamp, called En Francais, with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

The background paper is Basic Grey and I've stitched around the edge and then blended Scattered Straw around the edge too. The word and number are just gold peel offs.

Well it's been a really miserable day here today, it's rained quite hard on and off all day. I've had a leisurely day today, I have to admit it's the first day I've felt half human in over a week so it's been great to potter in my craft room. I just can't believe how fast the day has gone !

I ♥ ProMarkers challenge

This is the sketch for this week's challenge over at I ♥ ProMarkers with the added twist of making your own background. This is also my second GDT week, make sure you pop over and take a look at the fab DT cards.



I'm also putting this card in for the following challenges :

• Cupcake Craft - Going Green

• Daring Cardmakers - A host of golden daffodils ( I think mine are pansies!)
• Fussy and Fancy - Green
• Sweet Stampin - Colour combo (I left out the colour pink)
  

The photo has come out a bit dark as the colours in real life are alot paler than this, but that's electric lighting for you ! I stamped the main image, which is from a Stampin' Up set, with black Memento ink and shaded with Pro Markers. I then used Distress ink on the cream card before removing the Labels 3 Nestability die. I mounted this onto some green Bazill card and distressed the edges with my scissors. The background is cream card again that I've rubbed Lettuce Adirondack ink over, I've then stamped with the Bella Toile Stampin' Up background stamp in the same ink. The flower and the strip across the card are made from cream card that's been stamped several times with the same Stampin' Up stamp then I've blended Vintage Photo ink over it. The flower punch is an EK Success punch and the brad is one of my precious Marah Johnson brads (that I'm fast running out of !).

I've used eyelets in the corners and also done some stitching around the edge to add some detail. It's all mounted onto cream card that I've blended Distress Inks around the edge of and also distressed the edges with my scissors.


I'm posting early tonight as I think I will be in bed soon, I'm still struggling with my headache monster so the sooner I can get some treatment tomorrow, the better ! On a more positive note, I'm loving the light mornings, I didn't need to switch the light on this morning at 6AM....woohoo !

Butterfly sketch

This is my card for the following challenges:

• Papertake challenge - sketch
• Charisma Cardz - Beautiful Butterflies
• Die Cut Dreams - Pack a punch (use at least 2 punches)
• Little Paper Shop - Make something old, new again

I started with making an old stamp new again, which is the butterfly stamp. I bought it over 12 months ago and I think I've used it once, so this was a good opportunity to dust it off and give it another outing. It's been stamped with black Stazon then I've blended Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans Distress Inks around the edge. I've mounted this onto a piece of card that's had Scattered Straw and Tea Dye Distress Inks blended around the edge. The swirl is a Stampin' Up stamp from the Baroque Motifs set which I've stamped in Tea Dye. The word is from the same set and is also stamped in Tea Dye. I used an EK Success Spiral punch across the bottom and added some twine. The pale background paper is Basic Grey and I've blended some Tea Dye ink around the edge. I've use a Crafty Individual stamp and stamped with Tea Dye ink around the corners. The blue paper is My Minds Eye and I've rubbed Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans around the edge.

The border punch across the centre is a Martha Stewart punch and I've rubbed more Tea Dye over the the centre strip of paper.

Well that's another Monday over and done with, they seem to come round so quick ! Time to get some shut eye as it's an early start tomorrow.

Mother's Day in Citrus !

This is the gift for my Mum, who told my sisters and me that she didn't want any thing, but I'm not very good at doing as I'm told ! I've wrapped the gift, which is some Sanctuary Creme Souffle moisturiser, in some lime green tissue paper and then wrapped in some cello that I have left over from my floristry days.





I'm putting this in for the following challenges :

I cut the tags out on my Cricut machine then I blended the following Distress inks over them ; Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. The text stamp is a Stampin' Up background stamp called En Francais and I've stamped it in Spiced Marmalade. The swirls are also a Stampin' Up stamp which I've stamped with Peeled Paint. The butterflies are from an Inkadinkado stamp set and I've stamped them with Lettuce Adirondack ink. The letters are cut using the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet set as are the flowers, which I've rubbed Peeled Paint Distress ink over the top.

The headache monster made a visit yesterday so I didn't get any where near the amount of things done that I wanted to as I spent most of the day in bed. I'm hoping to catch up today, though I have to say I still don't feel 100%. I did treat myself to some Sanctuary foam bath, so I think I will go and have a soak while my tea's being cooked. Ooh yes, nearly forgot, I've booked onto another Artsy Craft week end, and fate must have been on my side as I got the last place !

Happy Birthday Sis !

I made this card for my sister as it's her birthday today, so Happy Birthday Sis ! I'm also putting this card in for the Cute Card Thursday challenge of Celebrations. The main image is a Rubber Romance stamp, which I've stamped with black Memento ink. I've then shaded it with Pro Markers. I've cut it out with Labels 8 Nestabilites and blended Weather Wood and Faded Jeans Distress inks around the edge. I've then inked a piece of white card with Weathered Wood and then stamped the background with the Bella Toile Stampin' Up stamp with Faded Jeans. I've inked another piece of card with the same Distress inks then put it through my Cuttlebug with the Bubbles embossing folder.

The sentiment has been done on the PC then cut out with a Labels 8 die. I've added some Glossy Accents to some of the bubbles in the bath but it hasn't shown up on the photo.

I'm running late tonight so I think it's time for bed !

I ♥ ProMarkers GDT spot !

This is the sketch for this week's challenge over on I ♥ Pro Markers and .....newsflash....I'm the GDT for the next 4 weeks ! Make sure you pop over and check out the DT cards for some inspiration. I'm also putting this card in for the Creative Card Crew challenge of Celebrations.

So, onto my card, the main image is a Mo Manning digi image. I've shaded her with Pro Markers, of course ! I've then cut her out with Labels 4 Nestabilities and before I removed the die I sponged some Pearlescent Purple Brilliance ink around the edge.

I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and mounted it on some Bazill card. The sentiment was printed on my PC and and I've rubbed some Eggplant Adirondack ink around the edge. The pearls have been coloured with a peel off pen.

Well I think today has been the lightest day yet, I've managed to go to and from work in the light ! Doesn't it just make all the difference !

Two challenges together !

I've just realised that both of the challenges I'd made cards for finish tomorrow, so I've put them on one post ! The first card is for the Truly Scrumptious challenge which is a sketch and also 'Good enought to eat'. I've just realised, while writing this post, that I've missed off the flowery detail...hope I'm forgiven ! The second card is for the Crafty Creations which is to use one colour in as many shades as you like.

So, this card was made using a Craft UK stamp which I've stamped with black Memento then shaded with Pro Markers. I've then cut it out with Labels 3 Nestabilities and sponged some Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress inks around the edge before removing the die. Then I rubbed some more ink around the edge to leave the white border.

The background papers are My Minds Eye and for the horizontal pieces I've stamped the flowers from a Rubber Stamp Tapestry set called Yumys Garden. I've added Glossy Accents to the heart and dotted some stickles on the 'hundreds and thousands' on the cake. The buttons are from my stash and I've stitched around the edge.


I started the below card by making the background with Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans Distress Inks then I've stamped the flower, which is from the Bloomin' with Beauty Stampin' Up set as is the bee, with Faded Jeans.

I printed the sentiment on my PC then cut it out with Labels 13 and used the same Rubber Stamp Tapestry set to add the flowers.

The ribbon wasn't quite the right colour so I rubbed it against the Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Well I can honestly say these are the last of my Mother's Day cards ! The stall went quite well today, so we were both pleased. We need to start planning for Father's Day now !

A bit of paper piercing

This is my card for the following challenges :

I printed the sentiment on the PC and then cut it out with Labels 4 Nestabilities then used a Rubber Stamp Tapestry set to add some flowers. The background paper is My Minds Eye and I've stamped over the top with a stamp from the Baroque Motif Stampin' Up set and added some more flowers from the Rubber Stamp Tapestry set.

The punched flowers are a Woodware punch and the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.

This is another simple Mother's Day card which I actually quite liked when I'd finished it. Well I've parcelled and packed everything up for tomorrow. Think it'll be an early night tonight !

Another one for Mum !

I have to say I will be glad when we've done our stall on Tuesday as I'd like to make a card for someone else ! This is my card for the Die Cut Dreams challenge which is a sketch. The main image is a Stampin' Up stamp which I've stamped with black Memento then shaded with Pro Markers. The colours haven't come out too well as the vase is purple is real life ! I've cut it out using Labels 3 Nestabilities. The embossed panel has been made using the Victoria embossing folder then I've rubbed Pearlescent Purple Brilliance ink over the top. The border punch is a Martha Stewart deep punch.

The sentiment was done on the PC and I've rubbed some more Purlescent Purple around the edge. The flowers are punched with a Woodware punch and the leaf punch is a Martha Stewart, the pearls have been coloured with a Peel Off pen.

What a beautiful day it's been today ! We went out for a ride into the country this morning then this afternoon it was nose to the grind stone again to make some more Mother's Day cards. I really do think I'm Mother's Day'd out.....lol.... ! I have to say it amazes me just when you don't think you can think of anything different to do, something pops into your head and away you go again !

Bon Anniversaire !

This is my card for the following challenges :

• Our Creative Corner - Sketch
• Allsorts - Just for Men

The stamps I've used for this card are a Stampin' Up hostess set. I've stamped the text several times in Vintage Photo Distress Ink then I've blended Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo and Broken China over the top. I've stamped the cockerel in Vintage Photo and cut it out with Labels 3 Nestabilites. I've blended the same Distress inks around the edge. The bottom piece of card was white when I started and I then blended the same Distress Inks over it. The sentiment, which is from one of the Sale A Bration Stampin' Up sets, is also stamped with Vintage Photo and cut out with a Labels 3 Nestability.

The border punch is a Martha Stewart and the buttons are from my stash and I've tied thread through the centre. I loved doing this card as I was getting very inky, my fingers are going to blue for a while I think !

I've spent quite a bit of time in my craft room today trying to catch up. The above card is for my brother in law's birthday tomorrow, so nothing like leaving it to the last minute ! I've just had a long soak in the bath so I'm ready to do some more tomorrow !

Stampin' Up goodies !

I've had a lovely time tonight playing with my new Stampin' Up goodies. I forgot to mention last night that if you do want to get hold of any SU stash then pop over to Blue Jelly Stampin' as Victoria will give you a very warm welcome! So, onto my card, this is for the following challenges :

• Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Sketch
• C.R.A.F.T - Mother's Day

I stamped the main image with black Memento ink then shaded it with Pro Markers. I used the beautiful Duck Egg, Cyan and Aegean for the vase. I love these colours together! I sponged Distress Inks, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Tea Dye around the edge and used my new SU Spiral punch down the side. I distressed the edges with my scissors and rubbed some ink over the raw edges. The text is from the same set of stamps called Bloomin' with Beauty. I've distressed the card in the same way. I've then stamped with my new background stamp called Bella Toile ( which is absolutely delicious ! ) with Vintage Photo Distress Ink then rubbed Antique Linen over the top and the added some more Vintage Photo. The background paper is My Minds Eye and I've used more Antique Linen and stamped the swirl from the Baroque Motifs set in Scattered Straw. The sentiment has been printed on my PC then cut out with deckle edged Nestabilities and I've used more Distress Inks before removing the die.

The two flower heads are from the Bloomin' with Beauty set and I've stamped them with black Memento ink, shaded them with Pro Markers and then cut the heads out. I really ejoyed making this card, I think it was the excitement of using some new stash !

We've had a beautiful sunny day here, it really lifts the spirits and lets you believe that Spring is on it's way. I've got a busy week end ahead as I still need one or two more cards for my stall on Tuesday and I've got birthday cards to make for my Brother in Law's birthday on Sunday too !

Shaped card !

This is my card for the following challenges :

• Cute Card Thursday - Lucky green

I started by using one of the mixing bowls from the kitchen to draw round to get the shape for the card. I then cut out the backing paper, which is My Minds Eye, and stamped the leaf with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and Shabby Shutters Distress Ink (apologies I don't know who the leaf stamp is by). The little bee is from a new set of Stampin' Up stamps, and it's been stamped with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The branch of leaves is from a K&Co set of stamps and has been stamped in Olive Stazon ink. The corner detail is part of a Martha Stewart deep punch that I've cut down.

The main image is a Mo Manning digi image. The caption on Mo's web page is ' You're kinda cute' and it just made me smile every time I looked at it so I decided I needed it ! I've shaded the image with Pro Markers and cut it out with a deckle edge oval Nestability. I've sponged Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Tea Dye Distress inks around the edge before removing the die. I've done the same thing to the sentiment. I wasn't sure about this card at one point and it nearly got put in the bin, but having persevered it's turned out better than I thought it would !

Well today felt like Christmas as I received my Stampin' Up order ! I've got lots of new stamps to play with so I'm hoping for some time over the week end. Fingers crossed !

Green and Distressed !

This is my card for the following challenges :

• The Pink Elephant - Add Green
• Tuesday Taggers - Swirls and Curls - sponsored by Crafty Individuals
• My Time to Craft - Just for Mum

The backround is white card that I've sponged with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks. I've then stamped over the top with the same Distress inks using some Crafty Individual stamps.

The main image is a Katzelkraft stamp and I've cut it out using Nestabilities Labels 13 ( which arrived today !) Before removing the die I've sponged some Distress Ink around the edge. The two pearls have been coloured with the Moss Pro Marker. The sentiment has been stamped with black Archival ink.

Another simple card as time is still not plentiful, but it's a good discipline for me to make a card in a short space of time as I normally take hours !
