I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge

This week over at I ♥ ProMarkers we're braving it and going for Christmas in July ! The sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop and we were lucky to have an image to work with. I've shaded it with ProMarkers (of course!) and then cut the image out with Labels 1 Nestabilities and I used Bundled Sage Distress Ink around the edge.

The papers are all Basic Grey and the poinsettia is a Quickutz die. The border punch is a Martha Stewart (my favourite at the moment !).

I'm entering this card into the following challenges :

I hope you get chance to join us this week !

Isabella's Sketchbook

It's time for another challenge over at Isabella's Sketchbook and this week we want to cool things down so we're looking for blue and green, as well as an Isabella image. I took a step outside of my comfort zone for this card and for the very first time I paper pieced the image. I'm not sure this is something I will do alot, but it was good to challenge myself to doing something different. The papers I've used are all Stampin' Up and I've used Labels 1 Nestabilities to mount the main image onto.

I did the sentiments on the PC and I've distressed around the edges of the background piece with Crushed Olive Distress Ink and zipped around the edge with my (Mum's!) sewing machine. Quite a simple one this week, but I was quite pleased when I'd finished !

I hope you get chance to join us this week and do make sure you hop over to Isabella's to check out the other DT's fab creations !

Passion for ProMarker challenge

This week over on Passion for ProMarkers it's my turn to set the challenge and I chose greens ! So dig out your green ProMarkers and let's see what you can come up with. The challenge is being sponsored by Pink Gem Designs and the prize is one of their gorgeous stamps.

I decided to makle an easel card this week, I've not made one for ages and fancied a change. I cut the image out with Labels 4 Nestabilities and I sponged a little Shabby Shutters Distress Ink around the edge. The paper is My Minds Eye and the border punch is a Martha Stewart.

I distressed around the edges and did some stitching. The sentiment is a Papermania stamp which I've cut out using a Fancy Tag die.

For the flowers I had a go at making some spiral roses. You can find the tutorial here. It took me a couple of goes but I was quite pleased ....eventually ! Apologies for the picture it came out a little bright.

I hope you get chance to join us this week and I look forward to seeing your 'green' projects.

Vintage 16 !

I've had a lovely day today and been able to play and get really messy ! This is another card for one of my niece's who turns 16 next Friday. I decided to do something that I really enjoy doing and that includes lots of stamping and ink !

I used the technique of stamping Distress Inks onto a craft mat then misting it with water and laying the card stock on top of it. The colours I used were Victorian Velvet, Worn Lipstick and Brush Corduroy. I used a combination of Crafty Individuals, Paper Artsy and Stampin' Up stamps and stamped them with Brushed Corduroy. I made the flower from an old book, I rubbed Victorian Velvet and Brushed Corduroy over the page first then cut the large flower using a Paper Artsy Die and the smaller flower is an EK Success punch. I've 'scrunched' it together and used Glossy Accents to stick it together.

The main image is a Tanda Stamps and I've stamped it onto jigsaw pieces with Archival black ink. I then used Brushed Corduroy around the edge then triple embossed it. The numbers are cut using the Olivia alphabet set then embossed with gold EP. The poppers are Tim Holtz Idealology and the lace is from my stash.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Baby girl birthday

I made this card for an order for a lady at work. I don't know why it is, but whenever I get asked for a children's card my mind immediately goes to Mo Manning. So I hopped over there and this was the image I chose. Shaded with ProMarkers and then cut out with a deckle edged Nestability. I did rub a little Spun Sugar DI around the edge too. The background papers are all Pink Petticoat ( they are so convenient!) and the border punch is a Martha Stewart.

The number and letters are cut using the Olivia Cuttlebug alphabet and the flowers are punched using a couple of Woodware punches and tiny pearls in the centre.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges :

Well the forecast said blue sky and sun today but all I've seen is grey cloud ! I don't know why I look at the forecast as it's rarely correct. Thank goodness it's Friday, though, I've got some catching up to do tomorrow so there will be some quality time in my craft room. Bring it on !!!

I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge - Buttons !

Welcome to another challenge over on I ♥ ProMarkers, this week we would like to see buttons on your creations, as well as using your ProMarkers. The sponsor for this week is Simon Says Stamp and there's a $15 voucher up for grabs !

For my card I've used an Isabella image called Elizabeth Ballerina. I couldn't resist as this card was for my God Daughter who's name is Elizabeth, or Libby. I kept the shading with my ProMarkers really light and cut the image out with Labels 4 Nestabilities. I sponged some Spun Sugar DI around the edge before removing the die.

The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp and the papers are all Pink Petticoat. The buttons are from a local craft shop and I've used the Swiss Dots EF for the horizontal piece.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

I hope you can join us this week at I ♥ ProMarkers this week.

Thanks for looking.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge

It's time for another challenge over at Isabella's Sketchbook and this week we want to see some 3D on your project, whether that's decoupage or simply mounted onto foam pads.

For my card, which I hasten to add is my first Christmas card of the year ! , I used the Festive Bird. I printed it twice and then shaded one completelly with ProMarkers and just shaded the ribbon from the second one. I then cut them both out and I mounted the ribbon onto the bird. I cut a frame using Labels 8 Nestabilities and the background piece of the frame has had Bundled Sage DI blended over it and then I stamped with the same ink using the swirl from the Baroque Motifs set by Stampin' Up.

The background paper is Basic Grey and the border punch is a Martha Stewart. The Poinsettia flowers are a Quickutz die and I've cut them from some more Basic Grey paper.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Just one more thing to add if you don't have any Isabella images, then don't miss out as today there is sale on all images !

I hope you are able to join in with us this week and I look forward to visiting you all !

Z is for Zig Zag !

This week over at the ABC challenge blog we have reached the last letter of the alphabet and would like you to make a Zig Zag card. We are being sponsored by the wonderful Lacey and her store. The prize is a $20 voucher to spend in the store.

I'm now onto another project and that is to make birthday cards for niece who will be, yes you've guessed it, 16 !

The main image is another from Mo Manning's fabulous collection. My niece will be flying off to the South of France the day after her birthday so I thought this image was rather apt. I've shaded the image with ProMarkers and cut her out with Labels 6 Nestabilities and then used Mustard Seed DI and Broken China DI around the edge. For the background of the card I've used a stamp from the Baroque Motifs Stampin' Up set and I've embossed it with white EP. I made sure to line all 3 background panels up and then stamped across them so that the pattern would follow through the card. I then rubbed Broken China DI over the top.

The horizontal pieces are Pink Petticoat Fairy Dots in Turquoise and the border punch is by Fiskars. The flowers are cut using a die from the Olivia Alphabet set then I've dotted tiny pearls around the swirls. This card was quite simple to do in the end, and I'm really pleased with it !

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges :

I hope you're able to join us in this challenge and I look forward to visiting you !

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

It's Tuesday again so that means it's time for another challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers. The challenge this week is Distressing, we want to see lots of distressing on your projects. The sponsor for this challenge is Just Tracy's and the prize is a set of clear stamps from the Olivers Orchard range from Buzzcraft.

For my card I've used a gorgeous image from Isabella's Sketchbook called Flower Song. I've cut it out with Labels 13 Nestabilities, then I've used Victorian Velvet DI around the edge before removing the die.

The sentiment is done on my PC and the papers are all Papermania. I've added little pearls to the centre of the flowers. Quite a simple card, but as it was for an order I didn't want to go too mad !
I hope you get chance to join us this week, and look forward to seeing all your 'Distressed' pieces of work !

Today's the Day !

Today is the day that my eldest neice graduates with a first from University ! Proud ?? You bet I am ! This is the fourth card I've made for family to give to her. I spotted the sentiment over on Linda's blog and thought it was perfect. Both the sentiment and the cap are from the same set from Sugar Creek Hollow. I started with the background and I distressed the card with Scattered Straw, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. I then stamped the image, which is a Whipper Snapper stamp, by stamping first onto a scrap piece of paper then onto the card as I wanted a faded look.

The side panel is made using a Martha Stewart corner punch, and the instructions for this technique can be found here. The paper is from my stash and I've paper pierced the corners and the tassel was from Joanna Sheen.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

We had a lovely night last night as the whole family got together to give my niece her cards and present. It really hit home that she has grown up, hearing her talk about going to London and Manchester for interviews. You think they will always be your little girls, then the next time you look they're graduating from University !

Hope you all have a good week end and manage to dodge the showers !

I cut the image out with Labels 3 Nestabilities and I've blended some Shabby Shutters DI around the edge. The papers are all My Minds Eye and the largest circle is a scrap piece Pink Petticoat paper in Pistachio. The stamped circle is from a Stampin' Up set as is the sentiment.

Isabella Sketchbook challenge

This week over at Isabella's Sketchbook challenge we want to see your punches ! So why not dig out your punches and show us what you can do, and don't forget to use an Isabella fab image ! The image I've used is called Evening Flower and I've shaded it with ProMarkers. I've cut it out with deckle edged Nestabilities and used Wild Honey Distress Ink around the edge before removing the die. The background paper is My Minds Eye from a freebie pad of paper, and I've used DI around the edge. The stitching is by hand and the border punch is a Martha Stewart.

I printed the image twice and cut out the flowers as an embellishment and the swirl is a Tim Holtz Sizzix die. I'm also entering this card for Sketch Saturday challenge and Papertake's Challenge which is 'In the Garden'.

Well I have to say I'm so glad the weather has cooled down, I actually managed to sleep all the way through last night without waking up in a hot sticky mess !

I hope you manage to join us this week at Isabella's and make you sure you check out the fab DT cards.

Passion for ProMarkers challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers and the challenge this week is animals. The sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and the prize is a $10 voucher. I'm sure you will have come across the 'Kickin' it for Michelle' card drive. If not, Michelle was involved in a terrible accident while looking after her donkeys and as a result she lost an eye. If you want to know more about the card drive hop over to A Spoon Full of Sugar where you will find all the details, including how to get hold of the below image.

I decided to make this card in 'cheery' colours as it will be sent to Michelle. I've cut the image, that's been shaded with ProMarkers, out with Labels 3 Nestability and before removing the die I've sponged Mustard Seed Distress Ink around the edge. I've given the sentiment the same treatment.

The side panel is made using a Martha Stewart edge punch and I've cut it from an off cut of the Pink Petticoat paper I used for the background. The buttons are from my stash and I've threaded linen thread through them.

I was going to put this card in for the Friday Sketchers challenge, then realised I'd missed out a piece ! However, I am joining in with the challenge over at Little Paper shop which is Distressing.

I hope you get chance to join us this week and look forward to visiting you !

Another one for Graduation Day !

I've only got one more graduation card to make ready for the big day next week. Here's the one that I've made today using a Whipper Snapper stamp, stamped with black Memento and shaded with ProMarkers. The corners stamps are stamped with Smokey Grey Versafine ink ( sorry I don't know who the corner stamp is by). The background paper is from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment is a Whisper Words stamp, stamped onto a piece of the Pink Petticoat paper with Stazon ink.

The border punch is a Martha Stewart and I've sewn around the edge with lilac. I didn't use any Distress Inks on this card, which if you've visited before, you will know is not my style at all. I really liked the clean lines on this card, so left it alone !

I've had quite a leisurely day today, so after nipping into town this morning I've spent the afternoon in my craft room. I feel better now that I've only got one more graduation card to make, I need to start on the 16th birthday cards then for my youngest niece at the end of July !

It's Graduation Day !

This is number 2 card for my eldest niece's graduation day, which is next week. I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

The main image and the sentiment are from Sugar Creek Hollow. The main image has been cut out with circle Nestabilities and layered onto a scalloped circle Nestability shape cut from My Minds Eye paper. I've used Wild Honey Distress Ink around the edge. The pieces around the main image are made using a Martha Stewart corner punch. The background is made using Wild Honey and Tea Dye DI and I've stamped the Crafty Individuals swirl and the freebie flower stamp ( from the Craft Stamper magazine) in Vintage Photo DI. The flower is the freebie stamp which I've stamped twice and then cut out one of them to create a top layer. The gorgeous brad is a Laura Ashley.

I've used a Martha Stewart border punch to create the horizontal strip, which I've blended Wild Honey DI over and added a small pearl to the centre of the cap.

Well that's 2 done, just another 2 to go ! I don't know why but for some reason these cards are taking me an absolute age to make. Well I hope you're all still enjoying the hot weather, it's set to continue over the week end too. Although I do like the warm weather, I'm also relieved when it cools off, I think I'm just about ready for a reprieve !

I ♥ ProMarkers - Distressed challenge !

The challenge over at I ♥ ProMarkers is Distressing and it was chosen by yours truly ! You' ve probably guessed but I love to distress everything, whether it's tearing, sanding or blending DI around everything. The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen .The image that I've used for this card is another Mo Manning image. My eldest niece graduates on the 16 July and I need to have 4 cards ready for then, so no pressure ! I've cut the image out with deckle edge Nestabilities and used some Spun Sugar DI around the edge. I've mounted it onto black card and cut around the edges with deckle edged scissors. The paper used in the side panel is actually from a pad of My Minds Eye paper that arrived with a magazine this week. I've distressed the edges and mounted it onto black card and then stitched around the edges.

The background panel has been made using Spun Sugar DI too and again I've distressed the edges and then mounted it onto black card and stitched around the edge. The flowers are punched using a Woodware punch and the leaves are made with a Martha Stewart punch. The congratulations stamp is one I've had for ages and there's no name on it.

Well ...one down three to go !

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Isabella's Sketchbook challenge

This week over at Isabella's Sketchbook challenge we're taking it easy and the challenge is anything goes, but you do need to use an Isabella image. The image I've used this week is called Flower Song which I've shaded with ProMarkers and cut out with an oval deckle edged Nestability. I've used Wild Honey DI around the edge and mounted it onto some My Minds Eye paper that I've punched the corners with a Martha Stewart puch.

The background paper is also My Minds Eye from the Bloom 'n' Grow set and I've distressed the edges and done some paper piercing in each corner. I had to make this card in super quick time as my Mum's not well at the moment and I was on bed time drink duty, so apologies for not much detail.

I hope you get time to join us this week at Isabella's so that you are in with a chance of winning some fab Isabella images !

ABC challenge Y is for ....

This week over on ABC challenge we've reached the letter 'Y' so the challenge for the next 2 weeks is ' Y is for You and Me'. We want to see two images on your cards ! This can be 2 images on a stamp or 2 images on your card, you choose ! The sponsor for this challenge is Wild Orchid Crafts and this is the prize

For my card I've used a Mo Manning image which has been shaded with ProMarkers. This is actually the second image I shaded as I managed to drop an ink pad on the first ! I was very calm though and quietly printed off another one and shaded it all over again.............then I screamed quietly !

I've cut the image out with a Labels 1 Nestability and blended Weathered Wood Distress Ink around the edge. The embossed piece has been made with the Allegro EF and I've distressed the edges. The background piece has been made with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick DI and then I've used a corner stamp from a My Minds Eye stamp set and used Spun Sugar to stamp with. The word has been stamped with Versafine Smokey Grey ink which I've stamped off onto a scrap first then stamped onto the background.

I've made the medallion pieces with a Martha Stewart corner punch using a fab technique which you can find here. The flower is made from grunge paper as is the number. I've used Worn Lipsticfk DI on the grunge paper then stamped the flower, which is from a My Minds Eye set. I've cut the numbers using the Olivia Cuttlebug alphabet, then used Gesso to paint it.

This card is for my youngest niece who's birthday is at the end of July and, yes you've guessed it, she plays the saxophone ! I've just got 3 more to make now so will be searching for more saxophone images !

I hope you can join us for this challenge, and I look forward to visiting you !

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

It's Tuesday which means it's time for another challenge over on Passion for ProMarkers. This week we would like you to 'Give us a laugh' and make a humorous card. The challenge is being sponsored by The Craft Garden and the prize is a £10 voucher.

For my card I used an image from Bugaboo and I have to say that alot of the images and captions were making me laugh rather alot ! This image captured my attention as it made me think of my sister who most definitely would rather wash her mouth out with chocolate rather than do any exercise !

The image was shaded with ProMarkers and the background paper is Pink Petticoat and I've used Distress Ink around the edge and also to stamp the flower with, which is a free stamp from a Craft Stamper magazine.

I've used a Martha Stewart edge punch for the centre piece and a Fancy Tag for the caption and used Wild Honey DI around the edge. This is quite a simple card as time has been against me over the passed few days as my Mum's not well, hopefully normal service will be resumed soon !

I hope you manage to join us this week to make us laugh, I look forward to visiting you !
