ABC Challenge...G is for .....

I can't believe another 2 weeks has flown by ! At this rate it will soon be Christmas ......lol.....
So onto the new challenge and this time over on ABC Challenge we would like to see .......'G' is for glitter ! The sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp.

Now this challenge did pose me a small problem, which you may have noticed, I don't like glitter ! So I've made a compromise and used stickles glitter glue, which I can cope with....lol..... just !


First of all I made the background which is done using a torn piece of paper and Broken China DI. I've sponged the DI along the edge of the paper to create the 'hills'. I then used a Clarity tree stamp (which I'd forgotten I'd got!) and also masked off parts of the card and stamped over the top with the same DI. I've stamped a snowflake around the bottom edge of the panel from a Katzelkraft stamp set. The main image is one of my favourite Christmas stamps and is from the same set of Katzelkraft stamps. I've used Midnight Blue Stazon and then dotted some Stickles on certain parts. The sentiment is also from the same set of stamps.

The snowflake punch is a Martha Stewart and I've put a blob of blue Stickles in the centre. The background paper is Basic Grey and I've used my sewing machine to zig zag around the edge.

Quite a simple card in the end but I really like it, you may be seeing more 'hills' in the near future!

Well I hope you're all managing to stay wrapped up and warm. I had to use my hot water bottle for the first time this week. I'm also trying to fight off a cold, everyone around me seems determined to give it to me. It may come to wearing a gas mask soon !

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

It's time for another Passion for ProMarkers challenge, and this week we would like to see projects with the theme of friends. The sponsor for this challenge is Just Tracy's and the prize is 5 ProMarkers or AquaMarkers.



The main image I've used is another of Mo's gorgeous selection. I've shaded it with AquaMarkers then cut it out using a scalloped square Nestability and used Broken China DI around the edge.

The background paper is Basic Grey and I've punched the flowers from BG paper too.

The border punch is a Martha Stewart as is the snowflake, the flowers are a Stampin' Up punch and I don't know who the fern punch is by ! The sentiment is stamped with Stazon ink using a set of Rubbadubbado sentiments.

I really love this image so this challenge was the perfect time for me to give it an airing.

Passion for Promarkers Challenge

The weeks are certainly flying by, I can't believe it's time for another Passion for Promarkers challenge ! This week we're getting into the festive spirit and would like to see either pink and white or purple and white Christmas creations. The sponsor for this week's challenge is Whiff of Joy and the prize is one stamp of your choice.

I found this beautiful image over at Mo Manning's so thought I had to use her for this project. I've followed the sketch over on Card Patterns for this card, I've rotated it so that the design fits. I've painted the image using Aqua Markers then cut her out using a Labels One Nestability. I've sponged Brilliance ink around the edge before removing the die. I then cut out the largest scalloped square Nestability and used it as the layer beneath.


The background has been made using a stamp from an Elusive Images set which I've double stamped using Royal Purple Stazon ink. I've then used the Brilliance ink to stamp the snowflake, which is from a Katzelkraft set of stamps.

I then blended the Brilliance ink around the edge and whizzed round with the sewing machine. The bow was an experiment as I used a floristry technique, it's not turned out too bad but I think there's room for improvement ! I've added some stickles to the top edges of the angel's wings to add a bit of sparkle, not sure it really shows up on the photo though.

Birthday Girl !

I had some fun making this card, as I got really inky ! I started by making the background and used Spice Marmalade, Fired Brick and Dried Marigold DI and blended it over some white card stock. I then used a fab background stamp from Stampin' Up called Sanded and stamped it with Spiced Marigold DI. Then I used two of the flower stamps from the Baroque Motifs Stampin' Up set and stamped with Spiced Marigold and Fired Brick. The side panel is cut out with Labels 17 Nestabilities and then put through the Cuttlebug with the Birthday EF. I then sanded it to highlight the words.


The swirl is a Tim Holtz Sizzix die which has been cut from card that's had the DI treatment and also stamped over with a Paper Artsy stamp. The flowers are a Sizzix Bigz die and the centre is made from self adhesive pearls. The sentiment is a rub on and I've cut it out with a Fancy Tag and sponged Dried Marigold over it before removing the die.

This card is for one of my niece's whose birthday is tomorrow, I've made it for my Mum to give to her. I think it fits the bill as she's quite quirky ! ( My niece not my Mum....lol.....) It's been ages since I've found some time to get all inky, I love it !

ABC Challenge ...F is for .....

It's time for another challenge over on ABC Challenge and we're now on to the letter 'F'. What we would like to see this time is..... 'F' is for flowers. Now we all have some flowers in our stash so this should be a nice easy one for you ! The sponsor for this challenge is Secret Crafter.



I've made this card for my sister to give to her eldest daughter, I'm confident no one will look here before Saturday (famous last words !). I've used a Sketching Stamper image, which I've heat set with a heat gun then used DI to water colour it. I've cut the image out with a Labels 17 Nestabilities and sponged Tea Dye DI around the edge before removing the die. The text is the gorgeous Stampin' Up En Francais stamp which I've stamped with black Stazon and then blended Tea Dye and Vintage Photo DI over it and distressed the edges. The background piece is made with a Crafty Individuals stamp which I've stamped several times and then blended Tea Dye and Vintage Photo DI over it.



The flower is a Stampin' Up punch and I've punched 3 flowers from an old book and then used Vintage Photo DI. The centre flower is also a Stampin' Up punch and I've blended Vintage Photo over some white card and punched the flower from it. The swirls are a Sizzlet die and I've used the same technique again to get the right colour. The sentiment is a Paper Mania stamp.

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

This week over on Passion for ProMarkers we're getting into the Halloween spirit (pardon the pun!) and we would like to see the colours associated with Halloween. So dig out your purple, orange and black and show us what you come up with ! I always cringe at this time of year as I really don't like the colours of Halloween, but I have to say I was quite pleased with this in the end ! The image I've used is from Delicious Doodles and I've shaded it with PM's and then cut it out with Labels 16 Nestabilities and used Spiced Marmalade DI around the edge.

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

It's time for another challenge over on Passion for ProMarkers and this week we would like to see recycled items on your cards. The sponsor for this challenge is Pink Gem Designs and the prize is 1 stamp of your choice.

I really struggled to find something to recycle, but then I spotted a pack of bought (dare I say it!) Christmas cards. I used a Quickutz die to cut the poinsettia flowers from the cards. The main image is a freebie from Inklined, shaded with PM's, and I've cut it out with Nestabilities. The harlequin paper is from my stash, sorry I don't know where I had it from.

The papers are Basic Grey and I've zipped around the edge with my sewing machine.
