On a roll !

This is another card for my niece, and as she's mad on horses this Serendipity stamp just fits the bill ! I've stamped it with Stazon black ink and then used a Mahogany Aquamarker. I've also used a water colour pencil to add a little texture. I've cut it out with a deckle edged oval Nestability and used Walnut stain and Vintage Photo DI around the edge. The background is made using Tea Dye and Vintage Photo DI and then I've stamped the dots using a Stampin' Up background stamp. I then scored lines down the card, and rubbed some Vintage Photo DI over the embossed lines.

The rosette started off as a trial but it worked out rather well (if I do say so myself!) so I decided to keep it. The top circles are made using Nestabilities and the letter is from Olivia Alphabet.

How cold has it been today !!! Definitely a day for staying indoors and staying cosy, perfect for a spot of crafting !

And here's another one !

Here's another card that I've made for my niece's birthday..... 2 down 2 to go ! The main images are from a stamp set I picked up from a new craft shop that's opened in our local garden centre. How handy is that ! I've shaded them with ProMarkers and cut them out with an oval deckle edged Nestability. I've used Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord DI around the edge. The purple background is made with the same DI and then I've stamped an Elusive Images backgound stamp with Dusty Concord. The lace is made with a stamp that I've had for ages and this is the first time I've used it. I've stamped with black Archival onto tissue paper and used the reverse side so it was a little more faded.

The flower is made with Mulberry paper and black tissue paper using the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die. I've wet the edges of the Mulberry paper and gently teased away some of the fibres. The centre brad is one of my last Marah Johnson one's ( if any one knows where I can get some more I'd love to hear from you! ) The background paper is Papermania and the sentiment is from an Aspects of Design stamp set. The border punch is a Martha Stewart.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges :

Well it's been very cold here today and I was surprised to see snow when I opened the curtains this morning. I managed to get off our estate without any problems, let's just hope it's that easy tomorrow !

Hope you're all keeping warm !

Sssshhhhh.......

This is a card I've made for one of my niece's, I am reasonably confident that she won't look ...fingers crossed ! The main image is a Clarity stamp and I've used the masking technique so that the shoes look like a pair. I stamped them with black Archival ink then clear embossed them and then shaded them with my Sangria Aquamarker. I've used Labels 4 Nestabilities and I've rubbed a little Vintage Photo DI around the edge and used a ProMarker to ground them. The Suchard stamp is one of my new purchases and I absolutley love it, so you could be seeing alot of it ! Almost forgot to mention it's one of Tim Holtz's gorgeous stamps. I've distressed it and then used Vintage Photo and Tea Dye DI. The embossed panel is made using the Cuttlebug Victoria EF and I've rubbed Walnut Stain DI over it.

The paper is from my Basic Grey stash, I haven't used any of my BG papers in a while and flicking through them I think I need to change that ! The sentiment was stamped with black Stazon and then cut out with a Quickutz die and I've rubbed Vintage Photo DI around the edge. The buttons are from my stash.

I'm entering this card into the below challenges :

Well I hope you all stay warm and safe over the week end, having the seen the news tonight it looks like we're all in for a cold and snowy few days. Definitely going to make use of my hot water bottle !

ABC Challenge ... I is for .....

So where did the last 2 weeks go ! I can't believe how fast the time is going now ! So onto this weeks ABC challenge which is I is for Ice and Snow and we are sponsored by Wags and Whiskers. Just one thing to remember don't combine your entry with more than 4 other challenges or you won't be entered into the draw.

I've made this card for an order, it's actually an A5 size which I don't make many of so that in itself was a challenge ! I started by inking some white card with Chipped Sapphire DI and then stamped with the snowflakes from a Tim Holtz stamp set. The sentiment is embossed with white EP onto glossy cardstock then I've blended Chipped Sapphire DI over it. Then I cut it out using Labels 13 Nestability.

The skiing couple are from a Stampin' Up stamp set which I've stamped with Chipped Sapphire DI, cut out with a Nestie and the some more DI rubbed around the edge. The horizontal stamp is by Tandastamps and has been stamped onto glossy cardstock and DI blended over it. The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart and I've added a small pearl to the centre.

Hope you get chance to join us.

WELCOME TO THE PASSION FOR PROMARKERS BLOG HOP!!

Over at Passion for promarkers challenge this week we are celebrating the change of design teams with a blog hop. I’m sure you are as excited as I am as there are lots of lovely goodies up for grabs!! We also have a few new faces on the design team so I hope you will leave them a nice comment to welcome them.

Firstly if you’ve arrived at my blog from the Passion for Promarkers challenge blog you are in the right place, if not return to the challenge blog and start your hop again. Our blog hop challenge will last for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to enter your card (or cards) and hop around the whole design team.

Our challenge theme for the next two weeks is “old & new” i.e. a brand new stamp/digi with old papers etc. Please can you tell us your old and new items in your post. Don’t forget to use your promarkers or aqua markers to be included in our prize draw.

For my card I've used a brand new digi image from Mo Manning and to be honest just about everything else is old ! The paper is Pink Petticoat, and the border punch is a Marthat Stewart. I've shaded the image with ProMarkers and cut her out with a circle Nestability.

The little charm was part of a gift from a friend and the letters have all been cut out using my trusty Oliva alphabet die set. The Happy Birthday is a

Clarity stamp that I've had for ages.

As you’ve read on the challenge blog the desi

gn team are also offering some candy of their own, so please leave me a comment on this post and a winner will be randomly drawn for a promarker prize courtesy of Letraset.

You also have a “mystery word” to find and my contribution is the letter “E”. Make a note of my letter and then proceed to Tracy for the next part of the hop. If you get lost on the hop at all just return to the challenge blog for full directions.

I just want to let you know the wonderful prizes up

for grabs for our blog hop challenge:

Can't see for looking !

Have you ever had one of those moments when you've used something ( in this case an ink pad) and then it just disappears into thin air! After turning my craft room upside down, throwing a few things across the room and coming to a decision that it had definitely disapeared...I found it !

I've made this card for my sister to give to her eldest daughter for her birthday on Tuesday of this week. The main image is one of my favourtite's at the moment and it's from an Aspects of Design stamp set, which is stamped with black Archival ink and then I've used Dusty Concord DI around the edge. I've mounted it onto a piece of card that I've stamped the En Francais text stamp by Stampin' Up at a jaunty angle and then cut it out using Labels 14 Nestability and used Chipped Sapphire DI around the edge. The border has been made using a Tim Holtz edge die and I've used some more Dusty Concord DI around the edge.

The background was made using Dusty Concord DI too and I've stamped with the same ink using the butterfly stamp from another Aspects of Design stamp set, the word is from an Elusive Images set. The flower is made using Tattered Flowers Tim Holtz Sizzix die and grunge paper. I've used Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord to colour the paper and the centre is from the Tim Holtz foliage ideaology set. I've done some zig zag stitching over two of the corners and added some nail heads too, it's all mounted onto some Papermania paper.

I'm entering this card into the below challenges :

Hope you've all had a good week end.

First Challenge for The Stamp Man !

This is my first DT card for The Stamp Man, which I am very excited about joining ! This challenge is all about 'Tim' at Christmas and we would like to see Christmas cards using Tim Holtz products and if you're short of the odd thing or two, make sure you check out the fab selection at The Stamp Man.

For my card I used this gorgeous image from the Tim Holtz Santa's Wish stamp set. The main image has been stamped with Timber Brown Stazon and I've used a little Fired Brick DI to paint the holly berries. I've cut the image out using Labels One Nestabilities and then used Frayed Burlap DI around the edge. The side panel has been made using the holly stamp from the same set again using Timber Brown Stazon and stamping twice before re-inking to give a two tone look.

The background piece is made using Frayed Burlap DI but I've then gone round the edge with Vintage Photo DI to add a little definition. I've paper pierced the corners and found this oddment of ribbon in my stash (which I had to iron before I could use it !)

I hope you get chance to join us for this challenge.

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

It's time for another challenge over on Passion for ProMarkers and this time it was my turn to set the challenge. So this week we would like to see some distressing and some stitching ( real or faux). The sponsor for this challenge is Stampeezee and the prize is a £10 voucher.

This card was actually made for an order but I tied it into the challenge as well. The image is a Whipper Snapper stamp, stamped with black Stazon and then shaded with Aquamarkers. I've then used Labels 8 Nestabilites to cut it out and blended Broken China DI around the edge.

I made the background by blending more Broken China DI over some white card stock and I then found the small flower stamp ( I think it was freebie from somewhere!) and stamped it with the same ink.

All of the words and numbers were done on the PC and I used a Quickutz die to make the tag. The border punch is a Martha Stewart and I've added some twine to attach the tag. I've distressed the background and then zipped around the edge with my sewing machine.

I hope you get chance to join us this week.

Birthday girl !

It's been a while since I made a card that wasn't for a DT, so I thought I'd share this one that was for an order I did earlier this week.

The gorgeous image is from an Aspects of Design stamp set which I've stamped with Stampin' Up ink onto a piece of card that I've blended Spun Sugar DI all over. I've then watercoloured the hair using Tea Dye DI, not being too precise with the watercolouring. I've stamped over the corners with another stamp from the same set using Victorian Velvet DI. I've also used a ProMarker to add a little shade around the left hand side of the face and neck. The background is made using an Elusive Images background stamp, again using a Stampin' Up ink pad and then blending Victorian Velvet DI around the edge.

The little butterfly is from a set of punches I bought from QVC ages ago and it just sits quite nicely over a butterfly on the stamped image with a couple of pearls on the body. The tag is cut using a Quickutz die and the sentiment is a stamp I've had for an age too and apologies I don't know who it's by. I've used some linen thread to tie the tag onto the gros grain ribbon.

I'm also entering this card into the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge which is to make a square card and Cute Card Thursday which is anything goes.

Well it's been a really grey, cold day here today and I don't suppose it's going to get any better now. I'm just coming round to the idea of thinking about Christmas, even though I've been making Christmas cards for ages now, it still doesn't feel like it's only 6 weeks away !!

ABC Challenge ....H is for ...

It's time for another challenge over on ABC Challenge and we're now up to the letter H, which is for (Christmas) holidays. So we'd like you to get started (if you haven't already) on your Christmas cards. The sponsor for this challenge is Lilli of the Valley and the prize is a £10 voucher.

I was very lucky at the week end to be in the vicinity of the Graphicus shop, and only to be polite of course, I made 'one or two' purchases .........lol.......

I decided to use the torn paper and DI technique again to make the hills for the background. The background trees are from Stampin' Up's Lovely as a Tree set which have been stamped in Broken China DI. The snowflakes are from a Katzelkraft stamp set and I've stamped onto a scrap piece of paper first to lighten the ink. The foreground tree is from a new set of stamps by Elusive Images as is the sentiment.

I've cut the sentiment out with Labels 16 Nestabilities and blended some more Broken China DI around the edge. I've paper pierced the corner and then used a Martha Stewart punch to create the little points all around the edge. I am quite liking the simplicity of this card and I'm definitely in love with doing blue Christmas cards so you could see alot more !

I hope you get chance to join us with this challenge.

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

The challenge this week over on Passion for ProMarkers is to use the colours of old photos, which is black and white or sepia. The sponsor for this week is Secret Crafter and the prize is a £10 voucher.

I've used a Delicious Doodles image and used the warm greys for the majority of the shading and then just a hint of colour. I've cut it out with Labels 17 Nestabilities and used Vintage Photo DI around the edge.

The background is made using a Rubber Stampede stamp and I've blended more Vintage Photo over the card and zipped around the edge with my sewing machine. I've used a Martha Stewart edge punch and blended Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy over it.

The tag is made using a Stampin' Up stamp which I've stamped in Sepia Archival ink.

I hope you find time to join us this week.

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge

It's Tuesday so that must mean it's time for another challenge over on Passion for ProMarkers. This week we would like to see lavender, lace and pearls on your cards. The sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp and the prize is a $10 voucher.

I decided that I wanted to do an elegant card as I have my eldest niece's birthday coming up and this will fit the bill nicely. I've used the sketch over on Friday Sketcher's. The main image is from an Aspects of Design stamp set, she's been stamped with black Memento ink then I've shaded the top part of her body and the pleats of her dress with PM's.

I made the text piece of paper using the En Francais background stamp from Stampin' Up and I've then over stamped it with the Sanded background stamp from SU using the Royal Purple Stazon ink pad. I've inked it with Brilliance ink and I've also used the same ink around the edge of the main image.

The swirl is made using a Tim Holtz Sizzix die and the papers are all Papermania. The words are also from the same set of stamps by Aspects of Design. The lace is from my stash and I can't for the life of me remember where I bought it from. It's fast running out though !

I hope you get chance to join us this week.
