Friday Focus - Silk Ribbon

It's my turn to  do the Friday Focus over at Frilly and Funkie and this time the spotlight is on the gorgeous Silk Ribbon.  The card I'm sharing here is just one example using this beautiful product, make sure you hop over to the Frilly and Funkie blog to find out more about it.

I've used Artistic Outpost stamps for this card and the embossed panel is made from kitchen roll, that I've spritzed with water and then embossed using an EF. When it was dry I then distressed it with DI. I must say a big thank you to Paula as I first spotted this technique on her blog using tissue paper and it got me to thinking 'why not kitchen roll?' The gorgeous rusty hearts are also from the Funkie Junkie boutique.

Make sure you check out the Friday Focus and most importantly remember that as Silk Ribbon is the product in the spotlight there is 15% off too !

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

  12. Very elegantly done and masked. I love how you did this card. By "kitchen roll" do you mean what us Americans call "paper towels?"

  14. I just stumbled across your blog and I am so excited, it looks like a great place to learn about new products and techniques. I see products advertised, but we do not have a craft store for 70 miles, so it is hard to get tips and ideas for what is new and how to use it.So, when you do go out of town and you have the good fortune to visit an arts and crafts store . . . you are just blinded by the glitter and confused with the lack of knowledge. HELP! You seem to be a very talented paper crafter and I am excited to be your newest follower. Please accept my invitation to visit and hopefully follow my blog as well. I love making new friends. I'm a retired activity director, artist, photographer, paper crafter, gardener, musician . . . Just an old gal enjoying each God given day. Connie :)
